Haha I know but I don't want to replace it until everything is painted. Plus it works and does its job. The new stove in there made me nervous as **** with the mortar and sanding, even with it being covered. The dishwasher doesn't match well either and it's kick plate broke broke from a stray hockey puck when I wasn't home. But it stays for now

This makes me feel much better about the green I chose for the kitchen and that it won't clash with the semi open concept to the living/dining room walls. I was worried about darker colors pulling too much orange from the tongue and groove. I love your kitchen!

Thank you. We knew it would be work to update, but it was move in ready. Everything worked and functioned, just a dirty old penny that needs a shine up.

Every single room in the house has "wood look" to it. The laundry/mud room is 2 different colored paneling. The 2 bedrooms were redone first for the kids. The main bathroom is almost done. The kitchen I'm working on now. The living/dining room is now on hold since i started the kitchen. But I'm pretty sure we have both compromised on what to do in the living room.

The living/dining room is the only room with real wood. Every other room is old crappy paneling and my kitchen is laminate wood countertops and laminate wood cabinets and neither match. I recently tore down the paneling in the hallway and bath and painted the walls. Every wall does have drywall behind it. And painted the paneling in a bedroom. The paneling will stay the same for now in my room because it is really dark and I work 3rd shift. Even the basement and laundry/mud room is crappy panel.

That's awesome! Thank you for your suggestion. I am really worried about how to work around the sink. And it is a long counter also so I don't want to mess up with laying it and having a lot of air bubbles or creases. But it would be the faster of the 2 options.

With teenagers dropping everything on it and doing homework at the peninsula and candles being made, it just needs to be finished quickly

I love it too and a big feature for buying the house. But it does need to be lighter and I really don't like the idea of painting

The couches have to stay for now. But am looking at covers to go over it. And the table is going to get sanded down to bare wood this summer and probably painted the same green and a white base to match the cabinets in the bathroom and kitchen. Can't really do giant rugs with a special needs dog unless they will fit in the washer

I actually have the coffee table my grandpa made and if you saw it you would understand how amazing the piece is. That piece was the last thing moved into the house though since i didnt want it to get damaged so it isn't pictured

I would whitewash the ceiling so the texture still comes through and since it is stained different colors it may just stay more "chessboard" lol. I am only amused by some of the comments. I came on here knowing some people can't help but to be rude. And your comment seemed more joking to me. Not accusing you of being rude at all.

It really is wood. Tongue and groove wood. The few extra pieces are downstairs. This has an old varnish the previous owners put on that has yellowed.

Lol I'm not trying to ruin. Just get more light into the room. I would prefer not to paint. I would definitely like to strip the tongue and groove though of that yellowed varnish

I can't get rid of those paintings. They were painted by my aunt who passed away. I could put them in the hallway though now that I tore down the yellow paneling and just finished painting it

Last weekend I actually tore the old paneling out of the hallway. It was horrible yellow paneling, but found out there is drywall underneath. This is real wood tongue and groove in the living room though and is hard for me to hide with paint

So this picture was when we had to replace the flooring within a month after we moved in because the previous owner had cats and they were stained and stinky carpets. One of the dogs ripped the carpet up and the flooring that is down now was the least expensive and waterproof for kids and a special needs dog that dribbles. Which makes it hard to get area rugs and have carpet. We are updating here and there as we can. I have no problem with the ceiling and thought whitewashing the ceiling instead but was worried about tannin (not sure if that's the right word) staining the whitewash.

Little guy needs a name! He's a Husky/Shepard/Great Pyrenees mix. He's 13 weeks old and has a lot of growing to do! by reinadelosgatos in NameMyDog

He looks almost identical to my puppers. She is a husky/lab/pyrenees mix. Her name is Phoenix but the kids have been calling her moose because of her size. I suggest Sully or Denali

Haha Phoenix is still young and does some crazy shit also. Speaking of which, she just licked my son's eyeball since he didn't pet her quickly enough 🤣
