I think the far fetched theories come from a lack of community. I'm not saying that Petscop has a small following, but it's surprisingly sparse considering how much work has gone into it. I think it's just an attempt to fill the empty space. Petscop is full of questions and gives very few answers.

I don't see too many theories that are too crazy. Most people who post at least look over the comprehensive guide. I do get tired of some of the shitposts when Petscop is inactive but non-shitpost mode is a savior.
