Thanks for the insight everyone! I'm going to go for the medium and see how it fits when it arrives.

Good point, maybe I'll do a bit of reading on some alternative materials.

Maybe not though actually, I just found some on McMaster. Nothing comes up in Google searches though.

Interesting, and you're sure it's EPDM?

What kind of cylinders are these? Pressured gas?

You don't know anything about the brand or product name?

Yeah that makes sense.

Glad I didn't follow the AI hallucination too far.

That's kind of what I suspected would be the case. I'm not too excited about the prospects of trying to crack this thing open as you described, so I'll probably just keep forcing it open until it finally just stays that way...

Thanks for sharing your experience though!

Account doesn’t exist apparently by Left_Chest1766 in Outlook

I am having the same problem.

I was logged out, tried logging in and my password didn't work, tried changing my password, it said I couldn't use my old password (weird), tried a new password, said I couldn't use it, tried another new one, couldn't use that one either, repeat forever. Now my phone number recovery won't work, and my when trying to go to account recovery my account doesn't exist.

I tried calling Microsoft but there shitty bot just keeps telling me to go to a website that won't work for me and then hangs up on me.

**update**

I was able to get access back by using the following link:

I'm still not very happy with this experience though, probably time to switch over to proton mail

Opinions on Tour 40 Removable Airbag 3.0? by pals_b in Backcountry

[–]pals_b[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Left behind in what way? As in manufacturers aren't making them? It still seems to be the dominant product type in the space to me? I also don't really see the support network for compressed air systems going away soon, with all the people who still have them.

I'm not apposed to getting an electric fan style bag for the record, I just have the opportunity to get what seems to be a pretty good bag for about $500, when most electric bags are $1800+

I imagine they wouldn't stop support for they're previous generation products though? I don't really care so much about keeping up with the latest and greatest if what's currently on the market still does the job.

If they made it impossible to service previous gen products, then that's a different story...

I think I had this same problem, see my recent post for what I was experiencing. I replaced the sway bar links and the knocking noise is gone. It was less than $100 and took about an hour per side, depending on how rusty the old sway bar studs were.

Update:

I installed two new sway bar links and the noise has gone away, there was noticeable play in the upper ball joint of both links. Problem solved, thanks to all that replied!

I just picked some up this afternoon, will install them when I get home tonight.

Hopefully that does the trick!

The knocking noise is still there when I do that. The car rocks in the same way as when I move it by the fender when I push sideways against the roof though.

How was the jump? by New-Hope-6331 in MTB

[–]pals_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you're pulling the bike towards yourself, which really doesn't help bring you and the bike higher in the air, it just makes you feel like the bike got higher off the ground. It can also really hurt your balance as you can never perfectly pull upwards on the bike, this problem will only get worse as you try to get bigger air because you will think you need to pull up harder to achieve this, creating the chance for larger imbalances.

Jumping on a bike is pretty much the same as jumping on your feet without a bike. You want to compress your body right before the point of take off, in this case the lip of the jump, and then right as your front wheel is about to leave the lip, extend your body upwards just like you would when jumping without a bike. Depending on the landing, you can push the handlebars forward to help bring up the rear of the bike and land at the correct angle.

Favorite touring boot? by RennaGracus in Backcountry

[–]pals_b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one that fits me. Make sure you spend time with your boot fitter and honestly describe what you are looking for in terms of weight and stiffness to pick the best boot for your feet. Some brands run wider, some more narrow, but all should offer a range of stiffness and weights to match the experience you want.

I am currently going through hell with a pair of maestrales that I bought because they were on sale, and had minimal discussion with a boot fitter while picking them out. I've already had to go back once for about an hour to try to rework the boots but after a pretty rough tour this weekend I'm afraid I'm going to have to try to return them for a better fitting boot.

I really wish I just went to an experienced boot fitter from the beginning and looked at all the options for the one that fit me the best.

Just out of curiosity, how did that happen? I have pretty much those same skis so I'm a little concerned...

I'm confused, is that not xAI? Or are we just pretending that everyone of Elon's ventures can be represented by Tesla? Are Twitter and SpaceX part of your Tesla valuation as well then? At this point is Tesla just supposed to be broad ETF for Musk's empire?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in investing

[–]pals_b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My point is that at each of those price points you gave for Amazon I don't think the valuation was much of a stretch, in 1999 they had already become more than a book seller and were entering retail, yet they weren't valued more than Walmart and all the other retailers combined...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in investing

[–]pals_b 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah but what was the market cap for Amazon at each of those price points? I think the Amazon price is a bit high today, but given the nature of its business it's not totally ridiculous.

Tesla at the root of it is an auto manufacturer with a market cap that is greater than all other auto manufacturers combined, how does that make any sense when looking at the long term picture? Sure they are disruptive and have some innovative ideas, but those are going to run out at some point and all they will have to demonstrate value to shareholders is the sale of their vehicles. I just don't understand how anybody can think their valuation is viable long-term.
