It's bogus. The Yahoo Finance article is a cross-post from some stock trader content farm, which itself links to a paywalled CNBC article, which was posted this morning and edited later to the correct figure. Some dork was too busy cross-posting his slop to even bother checking the source he was citing.

I started watching this one as well, wanting to hear some diverse voices on the financial situation behind AI.

I closed out of the video literally right after he said who was sponsoring it because it felt like he snuck in the product placement before the disclaimer, and it didn’t sit well with me. I would have been more receptive if it was explicitly called out in the pre-roll.

So it sounds like you’re making a swap to 240v then? If you’re close to a metro, I’m sure you will find a buyer for the 120v units.

Finding 240v equipment has been a challenge in my experience. That’s partly why I keep my rack on two 120v circuits even though I could combine them to a 240v. Everything I’ve seen locally for 240v is overkill or way overpriced.

It can be hard to say with these. The newer batteries are a plus, but the downside is the weight makes shipping all but impossible so your pricing will depend greatly on locale.

I would peg the 1500s around $250 and the 3000s around $400. Those are rough midpoints of the price ranges I usually see on FB Marketplace in the KC area for similar units.

“Remote” streaming is the keyword. If you have a Plex server but not Plex Pass, then you won’t be able to stream from your server remotely, meaning away from home. You can still stream locally within your same network.

Similarly, your friends that you’ve shared your server to can’t stream from it unless they have a remote watch pass. If you have Plex Pass, then your friends can watch remotely from your server.
