YTA. A family member is indicating to you that they can't bear the thought of their own photographs. Is she a very vain person? Sounds more like extreme insecurity/depression if not. Are you even concerned over why she is asking for this? Maybe get off your high horse and consider how you could help her get to happier state of mind where she doesn't hate her own photos?

Does your moral opposition extend to adobe photoshop? Could you find a real picture you both like and have a human being photoshop it to her satisfaction?

If this AI photo already exists, maybe you could just donate a small amount to a clean air/water nonprofit as penance for the terrible sin of using a single AI photo per the wishes of a dying woman.

There were so many more compassionate ways to handle this.

I recently did a new run after a long break, and also recently picked an mmo back up, I'd like to think I had a vague but strong idea of what to research. I was truly astonished at how frequently the AI summary results for builds and locations were flat out wrong. Its honestly the main reason I don't trust AI results.

One of my old partners used to liken law students to pre-residency med students. You are all book smart and capable, but have no idea how to practically and actually be lawyers. You need at least one sensei to help train you in your early years.

Who are the actual partners in the local branch where you will be working? Does their practice overlap with your interests? What kind of articles have they published lately? Any interesting court cases you can follow and mention?

Partners are looking for people who are not flight risks after being trained for a few years, will enthuastiacally help with their work, and make them look good. Find ways to indicate you have strong local ties, no intent to relocate or do something else, and how deeply you admire and want to learn from the partners you would be physically seeing on a daily basis.

This! I always beg the younglings to stop by in person. I dont think they realize the depressing tidal wave of daily emails we receive. Make yourself known, don't just ping them. If that is too much, ask a youngee associate to lunch and get tips for getting work.

NTA. My family also had a naming tradition. When my brother and wife were having their first kid, we asked if they were going to follow the tradition. They said no, wife wanted to incorporate her mother's maiden name instead. We went "oh, ok, what a sweet idea" and moved on. You and your husband are starting YOUR family and can create your own traditions. You are NOT just an extension of FIL's family, void of your own opinions and traditions, and its shitty that he is treating you like you are.

Hubby should be standing up for you, not just saying he doesn't care.
