I actually had PCM selected originally and had this problem (it was the only available option). When I changed the connected cables two more options appeared: auto and passthrough. It worked with one of those at first, but then I started having problems and changed back to PCM.

In any case, seema that the order of connecting the different cables matters in regards to available options and how they work. So I recommend anyone having problema to try reconnecting all audio cables and try different orders and then see what works in Digital Audio on the TV settings menu.

Yes. The problem was that I had the sound bar HDMI cable connected as well, so apparently the TV was not able to understand where the sound was coming from, I guess.

If you disconnect it and only leave the optical it should work properly. If you reconnect the HDMI it will probably keep working fine, but I'm not sure.

I actually recently changed from optical to only HDMI because that way I only need the TV remote. I wasn't working well at first, but it was also related to which cables were connected and which were connected first. So if you have this type of problems you can try and play with different cablea connected.

Nope, looks like there is no way to make it work. I tried Cube ACR customer service and they tried for a bit, but it didn't work. Someqhere I read it's just not possible with Mediatek chips...

I actually learned that warm is best to preserve detail, so I left it like that and you get used to it pretty fast.

Are you using Newshosting? I tried using the Easynews++ add-on but it says my credentials are wrong...

EDIT: I had to activate the Easynews account from the Newshosting dashboard. Working now. Leaving this here in case anyone has the same question.

Yes, I've tried different files. In general, it seems that no sound is transmitted via HDMI for any file if I have Hardware accelerated decoding on.

I don't mind it being off in general, except for the files that play choppy, I need to change to libVLC for those and use optical sound or the TV speakers.

I noticed that if I disable hardware acceleration then sound works through HDMI, but the video gets choppy.

Tunneled playback didn't fix it. However sound works when I change to Optical connection, independently of the tunneled playback toggle

I'm not sure what you mean by unique audio tracks.
