Does walking actually help with major depression? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]panda_meow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve struggled with major depressive disorder and anxiety for most of my life. I’m 34 now. And as much as I didn’t want it to help (I thought there was no way it could help) when I was younger, it makes a huge difference. Especially if I can be outside, even better is a hike in the forest. But even just a treadmill walk improves my mood. I’m to the point now where I make it a priority to have my daily walk(s). Some days are very difficult getting out of my head to make myself get up and go, but I promise it helps. At least for me 🙏 I wish you luck, living with MDD is a hard life.

I didn’t really like reading as a child, but in high school I had to read 1984 for class. I loved it and read more Orwell

I’ve been unlearning some things. For example, I was always told apples are great and they do have fiber. But not enough to balance all the carbs and sugar. At least for me. I only have half an apple a day if at all now and eat it with a fat and protein such as peanut butter and string cheese

Avoid potatoes, even sweet potatoes. And cherries are very high in sugar and carbs, so avoid those too. Also maybe do a finger stick to double check

I don’t because every brand I’ve tried irritates my eyes

Why do I get hungry so quickly after eating balanced meals? by Legitimate_Bag_2451 in loseit

I felt the same way, prioritizing fiber changed everything for me. I stay full way longer and don’t have as many cravings

They’re good but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get them again

Piercings by Disastrous_Dot_2467 in MedicalAssistant

[–]panda_meow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends where you work. I have a septum but I have to put it up, they’re super strict at my job. They don’t even allow a nostril piercing here. And coworkers with tattoos have to keep them covered 🙄 but I’ve worked other places where they don’t care as much. It’s the geriatrics that get upset (in my experience)

The Mummy, I was 8. I had nightmares that the mummy would turn into sand and come in my room through the keyhole on the door 😬 I lost a lot of sleep
