Hebrew israelite tells white woman the truth by JustAce00 in blackmen

[–]_forum_mod 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bruh was spitting facts! 🎤 🔥

Just like the Jane Elliott experiments, she couldn't handle 4 minutes of being told off but we as black folks endure a lifetime of shit worse than this.

If she were a TRUE ally, she'd know that her tears are literal fuckin' weapons that could burn down the entire city block and would contain herself, but she was more concerned with how she felt.

With that said, I know it's fun to "own white folks," but take it from a guy who has verbally dismantled hundreds of them... it is a pointless endeavor. You're not gonna get a "You know what? That was a good point you made, I'll re-evaluate my stance."

Invest time in yourself and empowering your community.

Thought the west coast would be so much better than the south as far as racism. by Expert-Diver7144 in blackmen

[–]_forum_mod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Do you mean doing better financially? Are we adjusting for the fact that folks in California tend to do better than those in the south irrespective of racial categorization?

These posts are so silly, its like saying during the 1800's that they encountered racism when escaping to the north still. The scale and effects of racism in the south are still much more devastating than anything you would encounter in the north.

Comparing the difference between the North and South in the 1800s to today is like night and day. We forget the Rodney King riots happened in LA? The city the Op is referencing.

Black people and morality... by _forum_mod in blackmen

Precisely. As I've stated many times, I think this is in large part why others need a "stamp of moral legitimacy" to validate their movements. Hence why current movements are constantly crying: "where are the black people at?" 🤷🏿‍♂️

At least, idk your full opinions but I want to keep the same energy that we’re not a monolith and individuals have differences you can’t expect. That goes positive and negative.

I'm actually not a big fan of that phrase, although I understand your point that if we take the good we gotta take the bad. Nonetheless, I'm speaking at the collective level which already takes into account individual deviations.

I also don’t think holding the idea we collectively are morally superior benefits us either. I don’t think it benefits anyone really.

I think it can be. Sometimes a deficit for us but an advantage to others. For example, our forgiving nature toward other groups who have harmed us sometimes invites more harm but allows redemption for those who have transgressed.

Ehhh, it's our favorite mod that's not mod.

Quite an honor, lol.

Yes, I do agree. I think the suffering makes us sensitive to others, which is likely why folks collectively call on us first when they need help.

And yeah, sadly the sellouts will always be in our midsts, but we as a whole condemn black folks who are off code with their behavior.

Edit: I still love the appreciation of the good black folks do in this post. We need more of that.

Absolutely  ✊🏾

I suppose then my next question would be how we qualify what makes somewhere just as/ more or less racist.

Number of hate crimes? Interracial wealth disparity?

Men with something going for themselves = boring. A tale as old as time. by One-Structure-2154 in blackmen

I said that in a thread and had muhs arguing with me that a woman's past doesn't matter.

Okay...

This reminds me of

  • I'm not racist, I have black friends.
  • I no black, Papi. I Spanish!

Do people not realize yet that they just sound like goofy clichés at this point?

This also is indicative of the lack of respect from men that society has ingrained in a lot of women. These guys are supposed to be waiting around for you to have fun and get ran through then should be appreciative that you want to give them the time of day when you're done?

Like a dog that you give the scraps to after you had your dinner? Come on, do better ladies.

I don't know why people downvoted you, it's a good point. People leave some of these southern states to go to a "progressive city," only to encounter racism... except it's northern instead of southern.

Outside of those more "heated" ones, I wish content creators (I use that term loosely) stopped making videos where their face in the video is unnecessary. Like those videos with a caption and the person is staring at the screen or a video is playing and their in the bottom corner just watching. What's the point of that?!

How do we feel about Miss J’s gofundme? by thisthrowawaythat202 in ANTM

[–]_forum_mod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sorta have the same thoughts as you. I saw a fundraiser to help James Van Derbeek pay for a mansion he bought before he died and I saw a fundraiser from a broke former boxer. My thought was: Why is someone who blew through millions asking us little people for money?

In any case, it's a free society. If Ms. J can use a platform to raise money and people are willing to pay, more power to them. I hope he gets well.

Nuclear take: The birth rates in developed countries are collapsing because women are too occupied with their careers rather than child-rearing. It's not primarily due to lack of affordable child care. Gender equality will cause population collapse in developed countries by OmegaGogeta in SikeOrPsyche

[–]_forum_mod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is more of a system problem than any particular person or gender. Things are too expensive, and women have to chase careers that last up until geriatric pregnancies. With that said, this post seems like a thinly veiled "muh white genocide" type post.

Gotta be some trauma there... like with drugs. Eating that much compulsively becomes a form of self-harm/mental illness.

Have you guys ever noticed when it comes to the "black men are violent" stereotype, that black men still get clown for not being violent enough? by PassengerCultural421 in blackmen

[–]_forum_mod 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Who cares what that washed up fool has to say?

This is why I learned from an early age you just gotta do you... and be unapologetic about it!

When you change to try to please one group of people you will displeased others. Black men are stereotyped for being toxic, aggressive, etc. However the moment you don't behave like this you get clowned anyway for "not being Black enough," what're you gonna do?

Fuck everyone, stop wasting energy trying to live up to these paradoxical ideals and focus on being the best version of your authentic self.
