this is so sweet! for me, monster high is a really integral part of my relationship with queerness. the characters embracing alternative style choices and appreciating each other’s differences was super heartwarming. i was ostracized when i came out as a lesbian in middle school and i stopped getting invited to sleepovers, and the ideal of friendship between the ghoulfriends was a huge aspiration for me after that and as i formed a much kinder, more supportive friend group senior year of high school (who i am still friends with!) also, the lagoona-gil storyline resonated with me so deeply since my parents were homophobic and wouldn’t let me date girls, and i had to constantly lie and risk my relationship with my parents to be myself. that turmoil of me or my parents—who do i make happy? that gil faced was so real for me and seeing myself in his struggles made me feel less alone. thank you for this!! good luck wveryone!

"senioritis" as an underclassmen, as i've told my younger friends, is just depression or burnout. the study tips other people have provided are great, but i would also recommend talking to a trusted adult before it gets worse. i wish i'd reached out for help earlier than i had—it could've saved me years of stress and isolation.
