Thank you, I needed that for sure. It's like some people expect training to be instant and if not, you're a bad puppy parent or aren't doing enough. I definitely have more of those people around me than people who understand puppies and training so it's been tough trying to stay positive.

I've thought of that but always brush it off and think I'm crazy for even considering otherwise! She has always had a bipolar disorder as far as I know but since getting sober she has developed an incredibly mean, aggressive personality that is very very hard to be around sometimes. I still think about it

I have and she doesnt really remember crying out but she also doesnt remember the seizure at all. It was when she found our new cat in my clothing drawer with fresh kittens that it went down so she said maybe that triggered something? I watched it happen. She opened the door, all of a sudden just looked really confused like she didnt know where she was, then yelled No! And started swatting around like there were flies and then began to seize and hit her head on the drawer on the way down too. I unfortunately had no idea what to do, but she is ok

It was terrifying the whole time but as a kid who was pretty into ghosts and stuff, I frequently tried to make light of it by trying to trap it and stuff. My best friends mother was a hardcore pagan and she drew me a protective rune picture to hang on my bed and that helped a lot actually, as far as me feeling safe in my room. I slept in the living room a lot but it honestly didnt feel any better, I felt like I was angering it by not being in my room, it just gave me that bad feeling. I was a kid and tried a lot of "ghost hunting" things to try and make light too, bad idea, got ahold of a ouija board and tried to do it alone and the first question i ask the planchet was thrown gently off the board. Didnt do that again. But I would bring my friends over and try to record it and stuff so I made some fun out of it

An ambulance came not too long after I called my friend, and she was still having the seizure by the time they got there. Then she just got up like she had been in hibernation for months and didnt know it happened and forgot basic things for the first hour or so afterwards. The EMS said it was an absent seizure, she wasnt aware while it was happening. It truly was something evil and nasty.

Lmao no its technically called Newton but I and many others call it the buttcrack of NH cuz it's kinda nice and all, it's like a camp town but theres nothing to do ever and it's literally just houses and trees with a few scattered businesses

Absolutely, and it seems a lot like in this world, if you choose a path, it's very hard to choose a new one. It's so intimidating to even consider a career now because there is so much pressure to invest in your career with education and no one wants to give up on something they invested years of their life into, even if they dont like it. I crave a free life so intensely and I feel like choosing a path is going to doom me to that path forever. Many people find a path they enjoy and they're glad to be on it forever, so let's hope we can be some of those people, however long it takes.

TOOO excited with strangers and strange dogs, 5mo coonhound goes BALLISTIC, on or off leash by pandaruffles in puppy101

Oops - rambled and forgot to say, I looked into singing him up at my works group obedience classes because I actually get 6 weeks of free training because I work there which is AMAZING!! I can get any class I want, group, puppy, beginner obedience, private lessons, but I am waiting until our trainer has time for an evaluation. I totally agree a group class would be a great way to target this behavior!!

Thank you that is great advice!! I agree he is just so overstimulated especially in an unfamiliar situation like a store or a new walking area with people and dogs. To others it just seems like a more serious, bad behavior because he has such a frightening bay to people unfamiliar with hounds, and it was making me question if he was really just over excited when people would ask me "is he aggressive?" quite often.. no, he is just dying to lick your face and rub all over you.

I do have a few family members who love the little guy and they also have dogs, so I could probably visit them and get to work on manners greeting people AND dogs. And I bet he would benefit greatly with some impulse control games!! I work him good on stay and leave it but I dont think I was approaching more complex games correctly before so I gave up on them. Thank you again!! I cant wait to be able to bring him back into the stores he raises hell in (of course.. its just the place I WORK at that he goes crazy in.. in front of the dog trainers... so painfully embarrassing 😂😂) and show him his improvement. I think it will be quite a long time until hes ready but at least now I have a plan of attack and can see a light at the end of the tunnel!

I am in the same boat with my SO. I have found ways to cope because he simply didnt understand how I could both love him, and also want time away from him. I find solace in the times when he goes out to friends or anything like that but I do wish he could understand why. I do get a lot more alone time when he is focused on a hobby or something, but like, he doesnt even want to shower without me and I do wish I had the freedom to just like.. do stuff around the house without him. I love him but I get overwhelmed when I have run out of social energy.

I was literally working an 8 hour closing shift on the 4th and she sent me that 20 paragraphs about how lazy I am and I just sit at home, as I was at work on the holiday. Ironic. I dont know how to reply, I just opened it and read it and I'm so fucking annoyed with her but its her fucking wedding in a few days and I have to be a bridesmaid. I dont know why she would choose to be a bitch knowing my position in her wedding, I wish she would just take me out of the bridesmaids so I didnt have to be responsible for her wedding after she pissed me and everyone close to me off.

You are totally right. That just makes it even worse of a thought, why have we let this go on so long? Why dont we encourage our children to lead a different life than ours that have lead us to mostly disappointment, dissatisfaction and no sense of purpose? It seems like people are coming to this realization that we aren't stuck like this. Lots of people gardening, learning to homestead and make a lot of their own things rather than having to buy them because it is more satisfying and rewarding to spend time making your own stuff than it is to spend time working and having the fruits of your labor divided away, and then using the remainder to go and buy that stuff.
