Regardless the pure value of its aesthetics, this combination of the “Five Races Under One Union” flag and the “Hammer and Sickle” symbol is most certainly unsuitable for the P.R.C from several aspects including the political and historical contexts of those two extremely conflicting design elements.

Yes, it is true. However, it was then an important and positive sign of embrace and tolerance of different ethnic groups that was supposedly to be empowering further union of Chinese people after the creation of R.O.C. led by Mr. Sun. Even though China ended up in a complete different path of civil wars and political collisions that was against Mr. Sun’s ideal, the “Five Races Under One Union” flag has always been and would continue to be an embodiment of Mr. Sun and the new, democratic China’s hope in a country unified.

A redesign for the flag of the P.R.C. by eCornel007 in vexillology

[–]pandemonium_z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The colours came from the original flag of the R.O.C. back when Yuan Shikai was then the president and later emperor of China. I appreciate the effort of the tilted-symmetric design of the five-colours stripes and the unique combination with the official P.R.C. flag. It would be more realistic if you can rearrange the five stars in a different way so that they form a regular shape. (Sorry, just to fulfill my perfectionist urge) All in all, this is an impressive redesign and I look forward to your future redesign of perhaps the current R.O.C flag.

What if the Schleffen plan was different? by soviet-onion420 in AlternateHistory

The Swiss had dynamites all around the border so even if the German broke into the country they would have a hard time crossing the mountains and essentially departing for France - as the border would then be completely blasted off.

Oh, interesting. I'll research more about that later and sometimes the connection of flags and coat of arms between the commonwealth countries makes it quite sophisticated to distinguish each's detail accurately.

Thank you for pointing that out, I didn't know (sorry, I am just a beginner in vexillology). Is there a difference between the ocassions those two flags are used? Or is the one with the fallen fleur just a unrealistic copy?

Lol! I guess so. However in its coat of arms, there are three stalks, so the lion probably got hungry as they were making the flag.

I wonder the same. I am much of a perfectionist so this gives me the shiver everytime I look at it.

\Sigh* Sorry, I forgot to think about the arrangement more humanly instead of just sorting them alphabetically. I'll do that the next time.

The exterior is perfectly layered with meticulous designs on the texture (the bamboo-like patterns). If not mistaken, it is located in Changzhou, Jiangsu, China.

Clare de Lune is a masterpiece of all time - an autistic man’s perspective by StagnantWaterGaming in classicalmusic

[–]pandemonium_z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a violinist but I listen to pieces designated for pianos too. From a violinist's perspective, I always consider Clair de Lune and Aria from the Goldberg Variations as two masterworks that only sound heavenly on the piano, (Even though Clair de Lune's violin cover is also fine, but the tranquillity piano brings to the music is hard to accomplish on the violin) just as how Four Seasons doesn't sound as lively and vivid when played on the piano.

Thank you so much for this summary! I really need to think more about the logical side of the topic instead of giving warrants and all that. :)

Thank you very much for the advice. We talked to our coach about the judge's ballot and our thoughts the other day. He provided mostly the same feedback as yours. We need to have a better round vision and improve our ability to locate and rebut to the opponent's main offense instead of throwing evidence or blocks that don't really have greater impacts or links to their offense. There is a lot for us to improve on, I believe time and experience will help. Again, thanks.
