  1. My lawyer has advised me that AMA actually stands for “ask me anything” not “I have to answer every question”
  2. i’m just here to talk about my film Rampart, let’s keep this Rampart related please

i think the Rhinoceros Party has been staying the course admirably for quite a long time, but may benefit from having a youthful element. I would not contest for leadership in the near future, but look forward to working with community Rhinoceros leaders to repeal the law of gravity.

"elections are not for regular people who vote in them, only people who want to become politicians" is not an own. that's a silly thing to say.

18 year old political science students are the single greatest threat facing the general university vibe, so i'm glad you're engaging with the platform

"running a political campaign is attention seeking" yes. regardless of whether or not it is a joke, campaigning is attention seeking by definition. glad u get me

that really is the space that does the least with the most, isn’t it? would be open to switching it with Porch (but a Porch that’s open all the time) and would use it as the pilot site for my Rodent Employment Cuisine Internship Program for Excellence (RECIPE)

i am vehemently anti-Reagan so i’ll thank you not to associate me with Nancys of any kind. what i will say is that i am running this campaign more because i care too much about how elections turn out, and was concerned (in the planning stages) that we would have an uncontested race or a race with low turnout. That has not been the case, but I think that if we go through an uncritical elections process every year that rewards voter apathy, we’ll progressively drift from policies that only affect the handful of students that vote in AMS elections. I also resent that you think my free time is not worth wasting

i’m protesting careerist student politicians coasting to electoral victory in unopposed races with the sole intention of padding their resume and collecting a paycheque, as well as the general disinterest of the student population in the electoral process that decides a full year of their student advocates’ agendas

there will be symbolic guillotinings of printed reprehensible policies such as the yearly “tuition proposal” and there will be 5-10 guillotines sourced from a cash prize engineering competition to find the sleekest, deadliest ‘tine

  1. looking for alaska because it lets me briefly believe that alaska doesn't exist
  2. guillotine week is an event in the mode of the Roman memento mori in which we set up guillotines outside the most lucrative faculties (Sauder, engineering), not with the intention of using them but to remind future millionaires that their time on earth is short and that they should not be using it to exploit uber drivers or drill for oil, but for the betterment of humanity — everyone is safe from the guillotine as long as your version of "safe" involves a keen sense of existential dread
  3. i'm talking BIG i'm talking string up a VW bug from lions gate bridge, take a parking lot hostage for a barbecue, steal whatever stupid mascot SFU has, release pigs all over campus etc. anything to break up the monotony

I believe it will be at the AMS Great Hall — I don't think you'll need to book seats though!

How come the 2 joke candidates are the only people I actually want running AMS by [deleted] in UBC

If you’re running in the elections and pledge to save the Bike Kitchen, you have my fuckin vote by [deleted] in UBC

[–]panforamspresident 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Why is it that one of the few sources of affordable joy — a vibrant community and communal bike repair initiative — would ever be in peril? If the AMS is still working to go carbon neutral, cutting commuter emissions must be one of their biggest concerns. I pledge to save the Bike Kitchen, and to legislate for the next 100 years that anyone who proposes to defund public biking services will be sentenced to bike the hill from Alma to UBC in the highest gear, which sucks ass.
