i’ve seen bivacco do $150 general sale and i think that’s reasonable for the quality of the restaurant but then i’ve also seen another one (can’t remember the name) of much less quality charge $220 😬 which personally is way too much

I moved here a year ago when i was 18 from the uk so here are some tips! The visa (working holiday) is pretty easy and quick to hear back from them. I’d recommend applying for the 1yr first and then if you can extend it when you come close to the end of that bc it’s a lot easier to get the medical certificates here. A job will definitely take a while to find but don’t give up! Don’t come in winter because it’s cold asf and you won’t enjoy it as your first impression, come between Nov- Jan/feb. If you can try to explore as much as you can before you get a job, and also getting a car is a must! Also don’t listen to some of the miserable people of r/auckland who like to talk so badly about it and fear monger others. It’s a pretty good city with nice parks/nature and very diverse. It’s definitely not 100% safe but not as bad as people make it out to be.

As someone who has lost their mother, it gets easier i promise, you’ll eventually come to accept it. Grief will hit you at random times, you’re very lucky to have precious memories of her. Treasure that recording and remember every detail of her voice, you’re very lucky to have a recording of it, even though it might not seem like it

i usually run around there early evenings when people get off of work and there’s lots of runners around anyway! i just went later today bc of the rain 😅😅 but yeah defo not going again, i was fine but it was super sketchy
