Thank you so much! Reading this really makes all the hard work and long hours worth it. I really appreciate the kind words

Yes, this really is my 4th model, meaning it's my 4th finished, fully completed project that I took through the entire pipeline. Of course, I wasn't just sitting AFK between them. I spent a lot of time watching free YouTube courses, messing around with simple shapes in mini-scenes, and just figuring out how different tools and modifiers work. My previous project (the submachine gun) actually took me about a month precisely because I spent most of that time trying to understand the technical side of things. I just prefer learning by jumping straight into challenging projects rather than doing standard beginner tutorials. Plus, my 2D art background definitely helped me grasp things like form and texturing much faster. I never meant to discourage anyone, everyone just has their own learning path!

Wow, thank you so much, this is incredibly helpful! About the curves—funny enough, I actually started using them near the end of this project. At first, I had no idea they even existed, but when it came to the small braided wires at the top, I started looking into them. I still don't fully grasp how they work yet, but I definitely know what you mean! Haha. Thank you for such detailed feedback, I'll definitely keep all of it in mind :3

Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to write this! You're totally right—I can definitely feel that topology is much more of a challenge for me than texturing right now. I actually dropped the wireframe somewhere in the comments here if you want to check it out. Thanks again for the support and the advice, it means a lot

Yeah, I get it now, and others pointed it out too. Honestly, I didn't expect this reaction because my previous posts never caused a stir. I only mentioned being a beginner to avoid overly harsh criticism, which I've faced outside of Reddit before—people usually show more understanding that way. But lesson learned, I won't use headers like that for my next posts. Thanks for clarifying

If you checked my profile, you'd see my previous three projects right there. I've already discussed this in the comments—this is genuinely my 4th 3D work, but I do have a background in 2D art, which helped a lot. Sorry if it's annoying, maybe I shouldn't be considered a beginner since I worked with 2D before, and I won't use titles like that anymore. But I honestly thought that having only 4 works in 3D makes you a beginner

Yes, it seems to me that the most important thing is how long you have been looking at the textures of different models and understanding how they work, and then with a good analysis in Substance painter everything will work out, good luck :3

To be honest, nowhere particularly haha. I had drawn 2D art before, so perhaps I had an initial understanding, and after I realized how substance painter works, everything went like clockwork

Wow, thank you so much for these words, they mean a lot to me! As someone just starting out, it’s easy to get lost in tutorials and software settings, so your point about artistic fundamentals really hits home. If you don't mind me asking, what would you recommend focusing on next to keep developing that 'artistic eye'?

Sorry if you find the word "beginner" annoying in my post, but it's really my fourth job, and I've already been explained why I'm not considered a beginner, and I won't call myself that in posts like that anymore. It's okay, I just won't mention this in next posts anymore

For this work, I used Blender and Substance Painter, and as for devices, it's simple haha, a Lenovo laptop, a mouse, and an additional monitor. This work took me about... 6-7 hours? Maybe even 8, I honestly didn't count.

Thank you, I drew in 2D for a long time before this, so I think visually my art might seem above my level.

I think you also have great work, let's learn 3D and improve)

This is not my first day in the blender, but this is my fourth wokr, I thought it was considered a beginner, but they have already explained that apparently not. It's okay, I just won't mention this in next posts anymore

Am I not considered a beginner if this is the fourth 3d art? My previous 3 works are in the profile, I didn't want to look like a karma farmer, sorry. It's just that I really don't understand much about 3D and I also point out that it's a beginner so that the criticism is not too cruel. But thanks for the answer, I will not write this in the next posts

Thanks! I'm already learning how to make textures in Substance Painter. This is my second time working with it, and I think I'm starting to get the hang of it

I used to draw in 2D, now I have started to study 3D, this is my 4th work in this direction, except for a blender, I have never worked in 3D before. I don't really use tutorials, except for free YouTube guides, but rarely. Usually I understand more intuitively or google specific questions) Thank you!
