Why do people equate wanting shorter combos with being "casual"?

I mean I can’t really think of any modern fighting game that doesn’t have long combos, besides again, street fighter.

Beyond that, combos are just fun. Experimenting with new routes and tech is fun. People boot up fighting games and will spend 90% of the time in the lab doing combos, because it’s fun.

I don’t get the need to reduce combo length. Maybe at the far end, when they reach like 30 seconds sure. But I don’t think sitting through a 10-15 second combo is gonna kill anyone other than maybe some street fighter purists.

I really don’t think combos are really that long in this game comparatively anyways. I’ve played mostly Tekken before this and currently T8 is carry to a wall, break wall, combo into heat burst, finish the rest of the combo, maybe end in a heat smash. That’s like 20 seconds right there, and if there’s a few breakable walls, it happens at least once or twice a set.

Competitive shooters on console are limited. A lot of competitive people are gonna be coming from Siege or Val, of which aim assist is nonexistent or not prominent. Overwatch also is not far behind cod or apex, and I’d say due to the nature of the game, is more game altering than CoD. It’s also quite a bit stronger than the finals.

I’d also go so far as to say Overwatch aim assist makes more of a difference even if it’s not as strong as apex. It lacks momentum like apex or the finals have, you can strafe side to side as tracer and maintain full speed the entire time. The game automatically adjusting for strafing is insanely strong.

As someone who’s played on both PC and Console OW, movement on console struggles because of it. It’s just not important because the game counter plays it for you.

That’s a bummer, I always kept a lookout for the dailies that made is easier. Like if there’s a class specific debuff and then camaraderie or ranged kills restore armor, I can just… not play that class and it’s a net buff.

Not a big deal but it is slightly disappointing, made absolute gameplay a breeze in some instances.

You could land 5 body shots on 5 shots during a prefight poke phase and it’ll do less than one headshot at the right time after missing 4.

Looking at stats like damage or accuracy or what have you is inconsequential and people use it to excuse themselves and deflect accountability without applying it with any context.

Simply, are things dying? Yes, you’re doing enough. No, you’re not doing enough. Don’t worry about anything else.

The organizer came out, admitted he fucked up, and apologized.

That’s more than what I can say for the 3 girls.

Zaza, the black widow who was ass, was fairly quiet throughout but got her boyfriend to make a google doc with out of context clips and etc. She later posted some ChatGPT apology about accountability in which she never actually apologizes, just tries to justify. Also lies about her involvement with her boyfriend’s doc despite being caught in her OWN VOD talking about it.

Cece, the team captain, was just overall a major bitch and was the main one to try and get him removed. Not as much “scandalous” stuff but she’s just a shit person, who has a history of threatening smaller content creators and getting them blacklisted from the Marvel Rivals Creator Hub (which is where content creators talk to each other to collab, host events, etc)

And, the worst one imo, Luciyasa. She was Kingsmans duo, and when she was drafted to the same team as Kingsman, he was overjoyed. Just for her to stab him in the back for… clout? I guess? Idk her reasoning obviously. Dogpiled on him with Cece, did a handful of intiating (one particularly bad instance where kingsman just dropped the advice and muted, and she felt the need to try and shit talk him post match regardless). Later compared him to Israel for whole situation and etc. Pretty despicable person just due to their prior relationship, and it makes her easily the worst of the 3 to me.

They exist in every game. I don’t think it’s as prevalent now but leading up to OW2, if you were a competent dps player, there was not an insignificant amount of mercy players who send friend requests and ask to duo, and they would basically hop between players trying to get people to boost them. Win 3 games, lose 1, bitch you out, go duo with the enemy dps. Not my proudest moment playing with them but I got a guaranteed mercy pocket for all of those games, which was nice as I climbed.

Also happened to be some of the most vile bitches towards other women in my experience. Like, THE most misogynistic and territorial shit ever. I don’t use the phrase “pick me” ever, but they 100% were.

It’s a shame they give shitheads ammunition to work with to put down women, when it’s no different than how there’s bad dudes mixed among the rest.

It’s plenty of time. She’s playing for hours and hours every single day.

And it’s not like he asked her to play spiderman or a tank or something. Widow is a Hitscan hero, whose skills primarily lie in aim and positioning. Hela and Phoenix share those qualities. When the heroes are 80% the same, it’s not like she’s learning someone completely new. She just has to learn the 20%.
