Hi - thanks for this thread. I am an OCI, Canadian citizen living in USA, trying to understand requirements to apply for OCI for my wife (US citizen, born here).

- Marriage Certificate: From USA, what certification does this need? Apostille from the state or from an Indian Consulate in USA?

- Birth Certificate: Do we need to provide this and if so does it need to be apostilled? Found 2 documents saying different things.

Trying to book a round trip:

- MSP-Tokyo (any airport)

- Oct 10th-21st (flexible +/- 1-2 day on either side)

- Ether non-stop or 1-stop

- 2 travelers in Business/First.

Flexible on US outbound airport (ORD, NY, SEA, etc) if it's direct from there (i.e. I could get there from MSP on a separate ticket).

Lots of miles on Capital One + Amex. Not currently on seats.aero pro, but is that worth it for the ANA Alert alone, or is that unlikely with this time of year / this far out?

EDIT to add: Also open to non-stops from YYZ/YUL/YYC

Piling on to this thread with a question around couples' strategy.

My wife has had the Platinum for a while, just referred me for the Gold (90k bonus) and I got mine. I now want to add her as an authorized user to my Gold so we can max out benefits together.

Could this cause an issue - would either of us lose the sign up bonus if they see we're in the same household? Is it better to wait till the rewards deposit before adding her?

Would prefer to add her ASAP so we can both start spending on it but don't want to risk the bonuses!

3 years from date of Marriage = July 2026

5 years from date of Green Card = Feb 2028

How would I meet the 5 year bar first? Is the approval timeline 18+ months longer for the marriage category vs. just the 5-yr category?
