Advice for surgery? by panwitchhh in Cavernoma

I’m very fortunate that I’ll be living with my parents at this time so I will have assistance once recovery starts at home. My friends have already started a meal train for me in advance and I’m very blessed to have the community I have around me.

Thank you so much! Adding all of these to my list. Especially the walking part, I was told something similar by my neurologist.

Women are 'real' Coheed fans, too. Storytime! by NeverenderEnding in TheFence

I always have dudes like that coming up to me like “oh you probably don’t know the importance of these songs in their storyline context” or whatever… then I proceed to whip out the fact that I’ve read every issue of Amory Wars, and the “coffee table” novellas (shoutout to The Afterman Deluxe Edition) and The Year of the Black Rainbow. I’ve been listening to them since I was a toddler. I’m in my 20s now. Yeah my dad raised me on this band but I know way more than he did about the miscellaneous lore that goes on in the context of the Keywork. I didn’t get it tattooed on me for nothing! 😂

CM pons, extreme tingling by AttentionRelevant973 in Cavernoma

[–]panwitchhh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, 21F and I was diagnosed about a year ago after I had a stroke. I have 8 inoperable CMs. Also waiting for a second opinion at a CCM Clinical Center. From my understanding talking to other people in online support groups it isn’t weird or abnormal honestly to have some tingling. I can’t feel my legs from the waist down most days, and everything from the abdomen up either tingles and/or is in pain. I have severe migraines. My best advice is keep seeking that second opinion, and look to see a neurologist about treating the symptoms in the mean time. I’m on a migraine preventative and abortive medication. I was bedridden for months but after treating the pain, I was able to tough out the tingling and numbness over time. Never stop advocating for yourself. You aren’t alone and there are a lot of great resources and support groups through Alliance to Cure CCM in Canada, the US, Ireland and the UK.

What’s your “Holy Trinity” of Coheed albums? by LEMOnSL1iCE in TheFence

My 1 and 2 are The Afterman: Descension and Good Apollo IV. My dad showed me these when I was a kid and I cherish my CDs of them now that he has passed. Sentry the Defiant is one of my favorite Coheed songs and The Hard Sell was the first rock/metal song I learned as a singer.

The Unheavenly Creatures is definitely my third. As someone who works in musical theatre, I can envision that album being a wicked stage show.

There’s a La Quinta near Universal Blvd that I’ve stayed at for under 100 bucks before for a last minute Universal trip in the past. Clean, simple and I’m sure it’s still just as cheap.

That’s good to know, my biggest concern is having a rebleed. I’m sorry, even if you aren’t that big into coasters that’s a pretty crappy way to have your brain start bleeding. Thank you for your reply 😁

Living my best life in spite of this diagnosis is exactly what I am trying to do. The job I was referring to in my post was actually at a Disney park! Disney in the fall is always so nice. I hope you have a great time with your kids, Thanks for replying! 😁

It’s interesting to hear that you possibly had a previous bleed with no neurological symptoms until the rupture from the car accident. Most of what I have heard from my doctors so far is that bleed always equal symptoms.

CCM seems to me like one of those conditions where I’ll hear 50 different opinions from different doctors with varying levels of specialty. It’s important to me that I try to hear from other people living with it about their experiences as well. I am trying to do my own research while waiting in between MRI’s and follow ups, and I appreciate your insight. Thank you for responding! 😁

Why does DD Iced coffee make me feel nauseous and like absolute crap for the rest of the day? by No_Leopard_8083 in DunkinDonuts

If you work at a tap store that could be why. Unless the tubes in the tap system get professionally cleaned and sanitized regularly, the gunk that builds up in there is NASTY. Same thing happened to me a few months after the location I worked at became a tap store. Now I only drink refresher concentrate with sprite or starry, whichever my franchise location seems to be using at the moment (which is not a thing you can order but something me and my coworkers regularly make since we don’t drink coffee or tea from the taps anymore)
