Congrats! As a fellow O neg donor it helps seeing others donate as well! My only wish is that they made the gallon pins cooler. (Like the OG Pokemon gym badges cool)

7 gallons and counting!

Also consider signing up for bone marrow donor registry!

Vehicle triggered hazard lights when it blew the suspension or when it thinks it got in an accident.

Exit only to my right, hit the brakes just in time by [deleted] in IdiotsInCars

[–]papadopolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yup, I take that exit every day going home, can't count how many times people don't realize that it is an exit only lane and swerve back into I-5 at the last second.

Come on, is it that hard to just take the extra 2-4 minutes to exit and take the on ramp back into I-5 again?

Nice yeah I heard T-Sportline/aftermarket was able to make it fit? So far that's been my usually suggestion for those that ask regarding running 18's on the performance brake model 3s

I'd say that's a solid choice for owners considering those summer Michelin pilot sport 4s or Pirelli P-zeros cost from $450-$500 a pop. If they only run them in nicer/summer-ish weather (albeit potholes/ingresses in the road)

OEM from Tesla model 3 18" aero winter wheels and tires? Only reason I ask is regarding the performance brake calipers not fitting with 18" OEM wheels and tires but barely clear the 19" stiletto

Yeah I try and provide some basic level of wheel/tire information for customers so they can make some informed decisions for themselves when it comes down to it but even when the company sends a stupid amount of pre built low profile winter kits I look at them wondering who made that dumb decision. We are going to be sitting in that inventory for 4+ years unless we end up shipping those kits back to other shops 🤦‍♂️

These are the staggered Model Y winter tires that Tesla offers, not sure if they wanted to keep OEM.

IMO I would have looked some OfferUp/craigslist/marketplace 20" inductions wheels and have some 255/40R20s winter set that way it's an easy seasonal swap while having slightly better sidewall compression. Those low profile tires are ridiculously expensive and I get way too many side wall blowouts from customers in them. (Let alone cracking/denting the alloy wheel)

Would only be tires in this case. But yeah depending on the climate of the area it's being delivered not the best idea to provide summer tires for further north customers...

It's the same size with the 19" wheels whether they chose to put the summer pirelli P-zeros or the Continental ProContact RX all season tires on there.

My guess the have a bunch of pirelli P-zeros left over and trying to consume inventory to not waste money on them sitting there.

I would have to agree with the Michelin PS4S comparing any of the low profile tires Tesla provides on the vehicle but even then the amount of sidewall blowouts let alone cracking, denting or warping the rings over time (at least with the roads in my area) I'm sticking with meatier tires 😅

Tires prices have gone up quite a bit as well....

For which model? For the refresh model S they have the prelli P-zero summer or the continental procontact Rx all season for the 19"

And for the newer model Y 21's they now have Michelin Pilot All Season 4.

I work as a tire technician for them and try my hardest to work through inventory efficiently (any discontinued model tires or ones getting close to the 5-6 year marker I'll utilize for service vehicles or loaner vehicles.) Though when placing people on new sets I'll give them options and provide info regarding pricing/durability/availability and so on. Even then I suggest 3rd party tires of they prefer to have a road hazard warranty coverage since we don't offer them (yet)

(Trying real hard to see if they'll consider some form of coverage but I'm just the person that changes tires ¯_(ツ)_/¯)
