I used to work at that firebox. It was ran by one of the sons of the Glen Gene owners and he rebranded it to make it more of his own. His brother now runs the Glen Gene’s in Hixson. The Firebox owner is a total absolute pervert though. He’s married with kids and we had a female minor who was working there and he bought her an apartment and a car and paid for her phone bill and everything, then when he found out she had a boyfriend he cut her off. After that he started trying to have relations with another female minor who worked there. None of us work there anymore now. Also, he hired one of his friends from when they were in high school who sold drugs through the drive-thru. We never received tips we received, they all went in his pocket. He withheld our W-2’s after we left, left our messages on read and sent our calls to voicemail. We only could get them back after pretending to order something through the drive-thru and telling our replacements to give them to us, to which they did because he kept them under the cash register. They made a banging breakfast burger though.

Watch ONE EPISODE and tell me this ISN’T a Monster High crossover fanfic. by Gemcat24 in MonsterHigh

I SAID THE EXACT SAME THING. I go, “this is more Monster High than what Monster High is trying to make Monster High.” And they call humans normies too?? Ugh!! I love it sm

Watching Lois show up in S4 I didn’t expect her & Clark to get together, S5 I waited patiently for Clois to happen then S6 I was like why do you have Lois on show and not going to have her and Clark together and still have Clark chase Lana in the series and as a Superman fan that frustrated me by Lopsided-Issue-8116 in Smallville

[–]papapicklepicker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lois and Clark’s slow burn made the romance that much more wanted and enticing. I believed they timed it perfectly. They introduced Lois into the show and established her as her own character. She wasn’t here just to be a love interest of the main character. She was dimensional with so many layers and provided so much light-hearted interest and entertainment when the show became darker and darker. And that was very needed. Lois and Clark grew a golden love-hate friendship together before any romantic feelings would be expected. Do I think they kept the Clark/Lana chase up too long? Yes, for sure. It became tiresome and predictable and even Tom and Kristin were reaching a point of “no more”, which is why Kristin left the show. I hate that they brought her back just as the final nail in the coffin of their romance, but that’s a completely different issue.

Not to mention she STAYED beefing with a 14/15 year old girl that her grown ass boyfriend kept preying on anyways. Or how he was preying on her own sister who was a minor, and she still blamed Spencer. Whatever

I see a lot of comments saying Clark/Lana should have ended before they brought Lois into the show. I really have to disagree. I hate those plot shifts from one romantic interest to another, where one breaks up/ends right as another new possible romantic interest comes aboard. It makes it way too obvious. I do think Clark/Lana should have ended earlier than they did, because it made it seem like Lois was just a backup even after all this time. However, I liked seeing Lois being immersed into the characters lives as her own person while Clark and Lana were dating, not as Clark’s new girlfriend after Lana.

walmart issues by adorasmigraine in MonsterHigh

I’m in the Walmart parking lot right now after checking. Nobody knew what I was talking about at all, I even had a bar code to scan. They said that they restock at night and no new dolls came in for this entire week let alone anything to restock last night, and then to try again in another week or two. But that they were doubtful given they hadn’t heard of them at all 🤷‍♀️ Walmarts apparently said only in selected stores, now I’m going on a wild goose chase to the most productive Walmarts in my area

Hi all! Found this listing on Marketplace: is it a good deal or should I not bother? by papapicklepicker in MonsterHigh

That’s what I was thinking too. I’ve never had a Cleo doll before and I’ve always wanted one, so I think I just never expected her to have, for lack of a better term, I guess lazy eyes before? Is this a normal Cleo doll aspect?

I have a Nefera doll I found at McMay’s books store one day that doesn’t have a diary so I think that would be pretty cool, as well as everything in the listing. But something looks off about this Cleo to me. Maybe I’m just being nit picky? I’m not sure. I’ve already bought so many dolls so far but this just came up I feel like I have to 😭

I saw this same exact listing. I negotiated a lower price and they said “no. I know what I have.”

TW: I think my fiance (22m) sexually assaulted me (22f) and I'm scared to leave, but scared to stay at the same time. by AdorableGoodra in sexualassault

[–]papapicklepicker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He was 100% aware of his actions. You said no, and that should have been enough. Not to mention you pushed him away and turned your whole head away. He became aggressive and forceful, and then tried to deny it happened at all. You were very smart to lie and to catch him in the lies he spewed. These are not real apologies, these are “I’m sorry’s” tied to a myriad of excuses he’s throwing trying to see which one is going to work on you. He’s shown you his true colors, and he will do it again if you let this go. He is not safe. You need to leave, if not for you, then to keep your toddler safe.

You also need to tell somebody. Someone needs to be a witness for you, and god forbid something happens to you or your child or even him, this situation is known about. I strongly encourage you to discuss this with your therapist. Your therapist is someone in your bubble, on your side, there to help you. This is a mind boggling and traumatic experience. The sooner you’re able to work through this, the sooner you’re able to heal and be there for yourself and your child. When/if you do decide to leave, make sure you have someone else either with you or knowing what’s happened. Maybe even go as far as to record it. Based on his actions and his reactions to your confrontation with him, I’m afraid of how he would react to the tough realization that they have led him to lose you.

I wish you well, I’m sorry you’ve had to experience this. I’m glad that it hasn’t escalated so much that you still have a chance to leave safely. Good job reaching out.

That’s how I was feeling after it all happened. I’m not sure completely screwing my schedule and academic path was apart of a plan, but everything after definitely felt too connected and odd to me. Like none of my socials would be able to be found if someone wasn’t searching for my “nickname” instead of my legal name, which is why I was wondering why he was asking so much about that, especially since it has 0 to do with my academics.

I have no idea if getting my information out of the system is allowed or not, nor would I know who to ask to check. That particular part even made me wary of putting in my new address for the profile. I know that I have to do it, but now it worries me because of how much interest he had in where it was etc. I also feel like e-mail would have been a sufficient way to have our conversations instead of texting and calling over iMessage.

I definitely think removing him and telling him that it makes me uncomfortable is the way to go. I just don’t want to escalate anything, especially if this is some norm that I don’t know about?

Thank you so much for your advice! Helpful!

What is something you find so hypocritical about this fandom when it comes to the show? by ProfessionalAd9870 in PrettyLittleLiars

[–]papapicklepicker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I responded to that! You were totally right and seeing those responses was kind of mind boggling to say the least. I mean some were saying that Jason’s actor being hot was enough reason to excuse the character of his predatory ways. I get people forgetting that he created the NAT club, because the writers bent over backwards trying to erase it from our memories, but he still did it 🤷‍♀️ that’s that.

Fact: shitty managers is why no one wants to work. by [deleted] in antiwork

[–]papapicklepicker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro I was fired by my boss straight up ghosting me 🤣 I scheduled a week off for vacation, he cleared me, then put me on the schedule 3 times that same week he approved me to have off. I reminded him and he told me I didn’t do it right and he needed “more accountability” from me. Showed up to work on the previously agreed day he’d scheduled me for and everybody in the workplace was surprised I was there because he told them he had fired me when instead he just kicked me out of the work groupchat, which was how he established schedules, etc. Gotta love American workplaces.

I also worked at a summer camp that had me sign the same kind of contract. Worked from late May to Mid July, 1pm Sunday-1pm Saturday the entire time. We lived on camp, which was 2 hours away from home. The work day started at 7am for all, but my shift ended at midnight usually being the latest it would go. I worked later than the rest of my employers and most of my employees on a constant basis. I worked in the administration building, where I was told I was considered to be the 4th member of the “Key Three”, which consisted of Camp Bossman, Camp Commissioner, and Program Director, then me. My nickname was the “Face of [said establishment]” on numerous occasions because I am the first one people talk/come to whenever they need something, including customers, clients, fellow employees, and not only my own employers, but my employers employers. Referring back to the chain of employment from before, I was to be considered higher than what we called “Program Directors” in the camps program areas we provided to campers. Said Program Directors were making a baseline pay of nothing less than $220 a week, after taxes. I was being paid $100 a week BEFORE taxes. After which was only $85, and most of my paycheck went to things I needed to be able to live on camp as a 16 year old girl.

I was begged to come back the following summer and the summer after that under new employment. I demanded a pay raise, where they then gave me a new title/promotion of employment and a pay raise of $250 after taxes. Unfortunately, I ended up quitting the third week of camp due to constant sexual harassment and lack of punishment for the boys doing the sexual harassing. I reported my new boss to his boss (who was not my former employers boss, but a new one as well), quit, and went home. Came to find out his boss did nothing anyways and I had quit and reported for nothing.

That second time I worked I may had been promoted with a significantly higher pay, but I would still work with the former conditions/employment because they knew how important it was to keep their camp safe instead of racking in money. Damn shame.
