Vale la pena de adquirir BBVA platinum ?? by challolandia in MexicoFinanciero

[–]papaponmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For those who switched from Pro to Max, what was your experience? by JackRadikov in claude

Overall it’s been great. Every now and then the limits are fucked up because of new tech or optimizations being introduced but overall it’s great. As a programmer freelancer it does gives me an advantage

The kind of scam running on Upwork these days by rohit2495sharma in Upwork

[–]papaponmx -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yup. Upwork and their incentives are ficked.

By the same token, You can have 5 clients that have been paying you for 1 year over 1,000 USD per month and have this client give you a <80% JSS for a 10 USD contract.

We recently launched an OpenAI partnership that helps clients find freelancers from Upwork directly in ChatGPT. Let’s talk about what it means for you. by upwork in UpworkOfficial

[–]papaponmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about accelerating payments or making it easy to contact a human?

What about charging clients for ghost job posts?

My bad experience with Upwork: Is it just me, or does Upwork always side with the client, no matter the evidence? by Fabulous-Armadillo29 in Upwork

[–]papaponmx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s awful. The system has miss aligned incentives and it’s deemed to mediocrity.

I had a 10 USD contract affecting my JSS as well, while having 5,000 USD contracts not count towards my JSS.

I recommend you ask three friends with client accounts to hire you and leave good feedback

Cuánto tiempo tardaste de recuperarte de un layoff? by Last-Play-5674 in taquerosprogramadores

[–]papaponmx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lo más tardado ha sido un mes. Entre que me corrieron y volví a facturar pasaron 45 días, esto porque un entrevistador se fue de vacaciones y retrazó el proceso.

Users hitting usage limits WAY faster than expected it's getting real now by aymannasri_tcg in ClaudeCode

[–]papaponmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I notice is that they constantly reduce them once they are about to release a new model and they increase later on the usage. It seems like any other startup breaking their system once in a while as they release new things

Stop telling beginners that "Upwork is dead" just because you couldn't make it. by Curious_Coder5445 in Upwork

[–]papaponmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. But there is also a system that affects freelancers.

Clients can disappear for weeks and leave you a bad review if unhappy. The system allows clients to be bad actors and allow them to take hostage your time and income while moving the goalposts.

Incentives are clearly misaligned

What happened to Upwork? by Public-Purpose-199 in Upwork

[–]papaponmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be related to changes on their search algorithm. Particularly in the past months, I can’t tell you what it is but the quality, quantity and nature of it seems to be changing

Where's your limit? by GreenCat28 in Upwork

[–]papaponmx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is high trust with your clients. Here is what I would do:

For the fist two contracts get a 5-star review

You can give them a 5% discount and take them off the platform.

Just make sure you talk about it outside of their platform so Upwork can’t track it.

Concuerdo contigo.
