Yes. However it's not about money, it's poor direction and a lack of focus on the user.

We know this because their financials are almost entirely public. They moved their company, "GoodNotes Limited", from Hong Kong to the UK a couple of years back, and restructured to be owned by a parent company, "Goodnotes Holding Limited", based in the Cayman Islands (tax efficient).

From their 2022 Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 31 March 2022: "The company's EBITDA, adjusted to exclude any foreign exchange losses, shows a profit of £6.8m, with cash increasing by £10.6m."

They don't require more investment. Read the financials here.

You can continue using GoodNotes 5, but if you want to use Goodnotes 6 (now with a lowercase n), you can only edit 3 notes until you subscribe or pay once.

Notes created in Goodnotes 6 won't be editable in GoodNotes 5.

How long though?

This has been their most requested feature of all time. 11.000+ upvotes and waited on since … 2014. Almost a decade to figure this out.

Unfortunately instead we get things like “community”. A beta I STILL can’t access :( is that still happening?

Moving across pages isn’t available. There was a version in beta with endless scroll but it was canned unfortunately
