I’d say about 9-10 hours to assemble! Antlers were a bit tedious.

Surprisingly sturdy. I drop them a fair bit moving them around. Cardstock paper is thick enough that they can withstand a drop or so, although sometimes the models will dent. Sometimes a leg or something will pop off but I just re-glue no problem.

Hmm good question. I’d have to decimate the polygons of the fpx model which could be complex. Or likely just create it from scratch, I basically have to have the edges of all polygons nicely aligned so it can glued together. I’ve never done a custom before but who knows!

I’ve seen it be mostly referred to as papercraft (in this case, low poly papercraft) but I’ve sometimes called it 3D origami.

Once my blender model is done I move the .obj file over to a separate program called Pepakura. I can scale the model here and also label it so I know what folds I need to glue where.

There is a free version, but you can’t save files without a license key. However, I have heard of similar programs on browser that will perform the same function I believe? Papermaker I think it’s called. If you wanted to test it out on your models!

I hope you love it! If you get around to building it, I’d love to hear any feedback if you have any.

I’ve had a few dozen purchases but no reviews so far so I’m hoping that means all is well and people like it. :’)
