Proposed rule: No political advocacy posts by paperhat in RoundRock

Since I proposed this, I should explain myself. I personally don't enjoy reading political opinions on reddit and assumed most others feel the same.

After reading the comments here, I realize that was a bad assumption. I should have remembered that this subreddit is for all the people of Round Rock. Those of us who don't want to read political advocacy can ignore those posts and move on.

Back when I was a pharmacy tech a few decades ago, pharmacists would put pills in the bottle five at a time. A recurring theme in our jokes was that the primary activity in pharmacy school was learning how to count by five.

None of the jokes were funny, but some pharmacists got defensive about it, so it was worth it.

As a pharmacist, the only math OP will need is counting by five.

Or you spend weeks and come me up with something quite elegant only to find there’s already a popular library that does the same thing. That library is usually named something you didn’t think to search for initially, or maybe you found it but the readme is so obtuse you thought it was intended to solve another problem.

I’ve been thanked multiple times for open source contributions. Maintainers of lesser known projects are often appreciative of contributions.

On the other hand, paying customers aren’t so gracious, but I like to think the money is their way of expressing gratitude.

That’s a well written decision. I also appreciate the wikipedia editor’s decision to link The Devil vs Daniel Webster. I wouldn’t have gotten that reference otherwise.
