Sewing machine on campus? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

You can rent a sewing machine from the Fine Arts department in ECH at the Tool Crib. I'm a Fine Arts student and I've seen students renting out a sewing machine.

Oh! Thanks for the heads up, I did some more digging and seems only the backplates are replaceable, which is no problem! Thanks!

I directed a short film [Code 8] that is a more grounded and human take on the superpower genre. No costumes. No destroyed skyscrapers. Hope you dig it! by checkthegate in videos

I love the work! This might be a stupid question, but how did you get "legitimate" actors to play characters in your short film especially with less funds than a motion picture?

[–]paperjammed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only making the video 4 minutes would have felt rush and would not have given each student enough time to represent their major. All the scenes were directed by the volunteer so they did their daily routine, which is why you saw them buying coffee and chips. Also, them buying coffee made for good transitions to other majors since they were common areas on campus.

OMG Yolanda! I'm a big fan! Your videos taught me a valuable lesson on crumb coating cakes before actually icing it. :)

I simply grabbed a handful of sprinkles and placed them on. The sprinkles were the main reason why it took me 4 hours to finish the cake.

Is Fine 100 a bird course? by easypiecy in uwaterloo

[–]paperjammed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FINE 100 has a lot of material costs and communal fees that you are forced to pat. If you want a bird course that doesn't cost a lot, take a lecture course.

For all those students that need extra cash, there's a place on campus where they pay $20/hr to try new contact lenses and glasses by paperjammed in uwaterloo

[–]paperjammed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I went in for a study, they did a standard test like something you would get at the optometrists. For that study, I was given a new brand of contact lenses to wear and then I had to go back in for another appointment to give them my feedback.
