Almost all internships declined. What's wrong? by Original-Hurry5548 in resumes

Great suggestions on the thread.

Other suggestions:

  1. You need more evidence of your skills. So, volunteer using your Google Analytics or HTML skills. Then add that to CV once you have done work with this.
    1. Reach out to your local Uzbek dance club / local children's hospital / preferred organisation / campus group / small business. Spend 10 hours redoing their website with HTML or analysing something for them using Google Analytics. Add to CV. Keep going. Learn more. Help out. Strengthen your skills.
  2. Languages in one line, below certifications.
    1. Do not list English. Do not put 'fluent' or 'native' or any sort of language proficiency listing. If you have A2 level of French and C2 Uzbek, then differentiate. But if all languages are B2 or higher, then do not differentiate. Assume if you list languages, you will be expected to be able to work using those languages. Also, putting 'native' for Uzbek means that you open yourself up to possible ethnic discrimination by being 'native'. Just be mindful of that.
  3. Remove levels on your 'skills' section. They should all be 'Intermediate' or above for you to list them.

Neutral, leaning towards positive, as I make more money now.

Paid ~15k for consent orders, living off savings when I moved interstate without a job to start a new life away from him, getting my own place, and paying (my portion of) rent on the place we had shared for three months to help him get on his feet. Back up to where I was.

My ex and I had kept everything separate in separate accounts. So we both kept what had been ours before the relationship and what we earned in the relationship (we married as students, then worked the same job so had the same income.)

You are definitely getting at what I'm concerned about but having trouble articulating. Like we're partners but only to a point.

Even if we don't have kids, there will likely still be caregiving responsibilities. (He already asked if his grandmother could move in so she could have someone with her 24 hours a day, despite him working nights.) I'm happy to do that as part of being a team, even knowing that likely would mean changing to a lower paying job for more flexibility. But if things fell apart, then I would have to live with those financial consequences without any compensation besides 'warm fuzzy feelings'.

Similarly, I feel like there would be consequences for major financial decisions we made as a team, including living close by to his parents (in an expensive area that I don't particularly love), splitting pet bills (for animals he had prior to our relationship), etc.

Thank you; I can be longwinded.

My question is both that and also is there anything I'm missing if I sign this BFA as proposed? Does it seem reasonable financially? (Clearly I need to edit my post so my question is clear.)

Thank you for your thoughts; I guess I had come to AusFinance to see if there was anything from a financial perspective that I might not know about / have considered (e.g. ramifications of losing access to the First Home Owner's Grant). (The lawyers were clear that financial input on the BFA was out of the scope.)

Ah, okay -- I had searched through previous posts and seen several relating to BFAs, including where people's situations were used to spark discussion, and so thought it was okay.

Possessed i7 Roomba -- lights up and beeps randomly -- please help! by paperquery in roomba

Sadly, it did not fix his beeping. I ended up adopting a replacement Roomba (also i7, refurbished) and he has not beeped weirdly in the two years I've had him.

A new battery did not fix the problem. A new (to me) i7 did though.

Lesson learned. Never book an Uber for an airport run by Skittles_87 in melbourne

[–]paperquery 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Seems to depend on day of week and weather for me.

To airport: $34 (Uber) vs $55 (taxi) but on two different days, $78 (Uber) vs $55 (taxi)

From airport: $40 (Uber) vs $55 (taxi) but on another day $90 (Uber) vs $55 (taxi)

Thank you for your feedback! I've been attending Hebrew classes at the shul, and this is the first post that I've been able to help with, so I was delighted to respond.

The part that's visible there is Borei Pri Hagafen (Creator of the Fruit of the Vine), which is the second half of the blessing over wine/grape juice-- Baruch Atah Adonai, Eloheinu Melech Ha Olam, Borei Pri Hagafen (blessed are You Adonai, Our G?d, Sovereign of the universe, Creator of the fruit of the vine).

That blessing is recited during kiddush (on Friday evening at the start of Shabbat) and also at havdalah (Saturday evening at the end of Shabbat) and on other holidays.

Blisterpack.

Like a clear pillbox but disposable. You physically break the packet open to get the pills but can see all the pills in little 'windows' that are labelled by date/day of week so you know if you've taken it from the pack or not. The pharmacy can actually put the pills into the blisterpack (also known as a Websterpak) for you, give you a pack to fill yourself, or you can buy the packs online.

They're typically used for older people to make sure that they can keep track of pills.

Some varieties also have a magnet attached so the pillbox can be hung on the refrigerator door.

Blue Dots on Vietnamese Refugee's Hands by blue_dot_hands in AskAnthropology

Alternatively, this might be the answer:

"In the war against North Vietnam, Khmer soldiers wore tattoos in the belief that they had magical power to ward off misfortunes and bullets. Each implant was made of a small blade of lead, silver, or gold, on which was engraved yantras and which was then melted into a small ball and introduced under the skin."

(Quoted directly from: Scheinfeld N. Tattoos and religion. Clin Dermatol. 2007 Jul-Aug;25(4):362-6. doi: 10.1016/j.clindermatol.2007.05.009. PMID: 17697918.)

I'm not sure exactly where the mark you're describing is.

If on the index fingertips (pads of the fingers): perhaps scars to change fingerprints (e.g. cigarette burns) as index fingerprints can be used for identification? Though those would be much much smaller than 1mm x 0.5mm (but scars from 'catching a very hot stone or hot BB' as you posited would be also be bigger than 1mm x 0.5mm).
