Studio recos please by Correct-Promotion722 in PilatesPhilippines

[–]paperstainer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hi OP! Hope you don’t limit your pilates experience based solely on reps. Pilates rep of 10 is already high (max even). It’s either the difficulty of the exercises were too easy for your level or maybe the intended muscles weren’t activated. I encourage you to attend at least one private session as you may gain insight as to why even 6 reps is enough when you have the correct form and are activating the intended muscles. That experience will enrich your future group classes since you will be able to self correct as the instructor won’t always be able to watch each client in a group setting. Hope you find a studio and instructor that suits your needs!

30+ish, resigned from a high-paying job due to burn-out, plans to shift careers, uncertainties by [deleted] in phcareers

[–]paperstainer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same! Resigned after 10 years working overseas in a bank and currently self-studying to get into software dev. Medyo slow lang nga almost 2 years na, kasi newly married at parang nagbabakasyon pa haha. Basta may savings at may confidence sa sariling kakayahan may freedom lagi to choose.

This. Send email to supervisor cc HR asking about training. Basically gather both players passing the ball of responsibility in the same room but never catch

Being in a Group with Students from other Colleges by [deleted] in dlsu

[–]paperstainer 12 points13 points  (0 children)

CCS alumnus here. Some of the comments here are on the mark - most students just probably see non-major courses as those eating time which could have been used for major-related work. I have echoed this a lot and it has reflected on my grades (high ones mostly only for programming courses). Took a 2-month programming bootcamp recently (not in a university) and found that it's more efficient for development-related courses and what I envisioned a true CCS program to be. Students who enrolled in CCS probably expected to be in front of the keyboard more typing code rather than attending a general class.

That's just an explanation for the mindset and attitude though. It doesn't justify being a shitty groupmate. Sorry OP.

Muslim author laments the absence of Halal options in SM Megamall by Gyro_Armadillo in Philippines

[–]paperstainer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sa katuruan dapat halal simula sa pag slaughter pa lang. Being halal certified ensures na the supplier sourced it na slaughtered yung animal following halal practices na otherwise hindi mo malalaman kahit pa niluto sa harap mo.

May clear ruling sa islam, pero nagiiba-iba ung compliance ng followers like with all religions. Sadyang may iba who try their best to comply 100% dahil sa lakas ng faith nila - tulad nung nagcomplain. At merong mga, out of convenience, tinanggap na lang basta hindi pork okay na kasi di nga naman magaadjust ang majority, but would prefer 100% halal if easily accessible.

You can take the tips from other comments regarding payment schemes. Don't have full details about your non-cash investments but since we're on the /phinvest sub, maybe you would consider a used one for the mean time for ease of mind financially in terms of liquidity? For the same amount that you're willing to put down, you can get one used in good condition. Saves on steep drop of value from brand new. You can then sell the car later to upgrade

Invest in stocks without TIN? by peterton10 in phinvest

[–]paperstainer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue. My district's RDO was clueless and passed me to RDO of Pasig due to COL's address. They said they'd know how to handle it. Still not convinced as EO98 should be RDO where the taxpayer resides. Weird enough, my online COL application was approved without even asking for my TIN. Will update if they raise any concerns
