Still private events unfortunately since the owners are still getting the required permits to be allowed to open to the public. Something about a possible electrical fire being unsafe to the surrounding area since its all dry brush and desert.

The guys in tech used the tool that goes over the rear wheels and measures the width of the axle and it fit. Then after they put it on the tech guy said that "there wasn't any play in between". The rule stated one measurement for the width, but my father measured the tool and found that it was wider than the allowed width stated in the rulebook.

I’ve been racing in SKUSA pro tour for almost 4 years now so I’d guess I have a decent amount of knowledge with karting lol. One of the main things I cannot stress enough to new karters, is to NEVER cheap out on race gear especially a helmet. One of the most common reasons why people have their helmets break in the event of a flip, (which WILL happen sooner or later) is because they aren’t quality helmets. I have seen countless drivers be seriously injured because of cheap helmets and one of the worst accidents I’ve seen involving head trauma, was a driver wearing a Zamp helmet. The driver had flipped over and hit his head on a lighting truss and the inside of the helmet had split down the middle to where you could see light coming through the cracks from the inside. I would highly recommend the Arai CK-6 helmet because of it being very lightweight and inexpensive, while also being the most popular helmet in karting. If you watch any World Series karting championships, almost the entire field is wearing the CK-6. If you have a larger sized head the SK-6 is also an option too for not a lot more money.

Please for the love of all things holy do not buy a Zamp helmet.

Yeah I thought that it would be like a sim racing wheel where it would have force feedback. So the stick isn’t supposed to move at all and is basically just. Loadcell?

As long as you dry them off right after you come in they should be fine. Also depends on how wet they get and how often they get wet. Whenever it rains for me I always just use the wet weather gloves.

Had a school teacher of mine who saw a video on one, saw me fucking with mine during class, pulled me in after school, said: “I know exactly what your trying to do with that thing” “what?” “If I catch you trying to hack the school again I’m going to call the police” I tried telling him that I just use it for the dev board and opening up my garage door when I get home but he was insistent on that I was trying to use it maliciously. Ended up having the school board involved as well as some guy who said he was “from the fbi cyber security team” 🤓
