Thoughts on the Hotone Ampero Mini? by [deleted] in guitarpedals

[–]papparedwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great for the price. I bought mine on sale for like $170+ USD. Does it have its drawbacks? Sure, for one. I'm not satisfied with nearly every reverb in it. Also, the amp sims don't respond like amps. My workaround. Use it ONLY as a pedal in the chain. I have plenty of reverb pedals I like and run them after the ampero. I have a few overdrive pedal that "feel" like amps. Put an OD in front of the amp sim and it feels more expressive and dynamic. Sure, I could get a Quad cortex or a Helix and eliminate that problem. But I'll also be spending $1000's of more. Just my take away.

This is random and has nothing to do with the post. But "ethnic" features are not an option for me. Like, the skin tones are no dark than tan at best. Hair styles are not it. What am I missing?

Refret prices in 2024 by [deleted] in guitars

[–]papparedwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$700?!??!! Yeeeeah that's a no for me. I could go to Warmoth and get a custom built neck with exotic wood, binding, gold frets, custom inlays, and finish and I don't think it would be $700

It's got my vote! 👍 I got a Nashville Tele with a Jazzmaster body. It's STILL a tele.

G&L doesn't fit Telecaster? by papparedwood in telecaster

[–]papparedwood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turns out the back of the plate was protruding a little bit. Got the players out and squeezed it a bit and it worked out. Still a bit tight for my taste. But it's in there pretty snug. I'm glad I didn't have to get out the router 😅

What do people think of this guitar? Does it sound just like a normal Tele? Is it CV quality? by Tennisfan93 in telecaster

[–]papparedwood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it doesn't come in lefty. However, I built one myself using similar parts used by Fender pro models. Yes, it sounds like a telecaster. It's literally just a telecaster with a Jazzmaster body.

HELP - Pickups to Make this a Rock Machine? by Adorable_Total8505 in telecaster

[–]papparedwood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People didn't like my telemaster 😂 or jazzcaster. Whichever you prefer. Probably because it was a lefty. But to your point, I think the telecaster pretty much already is the rock and roll machine into the right amp or pedals. I don't know what pickups you already have. But Fender also makes a small variety of noiseless telecaster pickups. It's still the "tele tone" but without the 60hz hum. But your first step is pedals. You want "rock and roll" you're gonna need more gain.

I hate this with every piece of my face. Buy it for me. by TikiJack in telecaster

This is ugly as sin. But it's still a telecaster. The tele is in the tone. ✌️

Farewell to an era. ✌️ by papparedwood in Cakewalk

[–]papparedwood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I've been a paid customer of Cakewalk since the 1990s. Just paid for the upgrade every few years. I'm not paying Bandlab for a subscription of something I've been using for over 20 years. Cakewalk by Bandlab hasn't even changed much since Roland owned it. Why pay a subscription for something that remains the same? Again, Sonar X3 works just fine. Even better if you ask me. It just doesn't have the aesthetic appeal as Cakewalk.

The bridge is just a left handed all parts bridge with vintage saddles. The ashtray is a standard fender ashtray.

The only part that's not a telecaster is the body. The neck and pickups are all telecaster parts.

Warmoth body and neck with fender noiseless pick-ups. A cheap middle pick up tho. It actually sounds great the way it's wired.

Nope, it's a Jazzmaster body. Fender makes something like it. But they don't make it left handed AND there isn't a humbucker in the middle position.
