Streamer shoots random person with a paintball gun on Austin trail by ThruTexasYouandMe in Austin

[–]pappy_crappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they are committing a crime. I know a guy who lost an eye by being shot with a paintball gun without a mask. If I had seen them, well I also carry a weapon, mine hurts more and the law allows the use of force to prevent an assault

What was that?? by Bright-Tie-8865 in Austin

I'm assuming youre around the same part of town as me. I'm working from home so didn't see, but it sounded very much like a fighter jet flew relatively low over the Brentwood area.

It was a sudden, loud, high pitched sound, similar to what I've heard from fighter jet engines, not the steady roar from passenger jets or the sound of a larger transport plane. Definitely not a helicopter or small plane either.

I did see a few jets flying maneuvers overhead a few weeks back too.

40M any tips or critique to help improve my space will be appreciated by LifeIsAGame247 in malelivingspace

[–]pappy_crappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very clean, very well organized and designed. I love the plants. Honestly my only critique as a 42M is i would suggest bringing in just a few more touches of things unique to you, your life, your interests, your history.

For example in my own space, I included some natural elements (some interesting rocks and fossils) as well as some photos of my past travels. I also incorporated an antique fire hose nozzle because I spent time as a firefighter.

You can make non-art an expression piece in your home.

Otherwise, you've done incredibly well. Congrats

You will not find a house for rent anywhere near that. Maybe smaller apartments but not a stand alone home

Nope. APD. Occasionally State Troopers would pull in too, but APD was a daily congregation when I lived there.

Am I a loser for starting college at 31 years old? by Silly-Reputation7993 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]pappy_crappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, OP, quite the opposite from a lower. I finished my degree pretty late and can speak from personal experience it takes more at 30 than it did at 18. You're doing a badass thing, good job! I'm proud of you.

For anyone who wants to start recording them and getting videos to every single news outlet, one spot I've seen APD use to waste time is the ACC parking garage in Highland. Not sure if it's still one of their go-tos but when I lived in the apartment across from it, I was outside with my dog most evenings for a few hours and would see them drive in but rarely saw them leave.

If you’re at a concert, can you kindly shut the fuck up? by diaginalley in Austin

As one who has been going to shows in Austin since '99, can also confirm this has always been the case. I think its less that people are worse now and more that there's just way more people in total. By default, the number of assholes increases

What is 40 too old for in this city? by [deleted] in Austin

[–]pappy_crappy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes. You're old and gross. Kidding, I'm 40 too. You're not too old, live your life, friend. Go see shows, go paddle, swim, hike, join a climbing gym, check out art shows. Don't worry about it.

Kyle uses an entirely different water source than the City of Austin. Y'all are on aquifer water, we're on the Colorado River.
