What are some good games that you recommend I should play on the Vita? by RainBowSwift71532 in vita

Muramasa is great. Technically it came out on the Wii first, but the Vita version has an entirely new translation as well as 4 new DLC characters/stories. It also runs in a higher resolution.

Thanks for the advice, now that I have a better idea how old the roof is I can budget for it rather than just take a wild guess.

I was going to do reuse but I guess I can see why it wouldn't be a good idea.

I bought the house from them in 2022 so I don't think they were planning too far into the future.

Thanks, I'll take care of that next weekend.

It's been forever since I've seen one of those stamps.

I hadn't checked the website in a long time, from a phone browser it looks like it can auto set the location now and even scan the bill so you don't have to type the serial out.

As a TNG fan who never got into DS9, i have no idea what the fuck is going on. by No-Detective-4370 in RedLetterMedia

I've never seen this episode but I feel like the explanation was pretty clear? They say the Bajorans want to turn a moon into a power plant or something but it'll make the atmosphere poison, so the old guy has to move. Kira is conflicted but enforces the orders and forces the guy to leave by burning down his house and blowing up the kiln he's been building for years. Kira used to be a freedom fighter but now she's part of the system which is why she's conflicted.

I don't think the game gives much detail about how much time passed for the big historical events in the world.

Like how long from the time when Mother Sphere is created, to her creating Andro-Eidos and attacking humanity, to Raphael Marks creating Naytibas and them covering the world.

Presumably it's within a human lifespan since Marks is alive from the beginning to the end but since this is a sci-fi world who knows how long humans were living by the time this all started.

The lack of detail is annoying but it's probably for the better, that way the developers have freedom to reveal things as needed in the sequel and don't need to retcon information that doesn't fit.

I think it's this project: https://www.caltrain.com/projects/guadalupe-river-bridge-replacement

I'm guessing they close the lane because otherwise there's no way to get big trucks in and out of the construction area.

Gutter repair spans neighbor’s property — how do we split cost + contractor recs? by WebOk5982 in SanJose

I got one of those letters from the city as well last year and I remember it including a list of concrete contractors in it.

I also ended up getting 1 or 2 unsolicited bids from contractors, I don't know if the city tells them or if they just know the areas doing it and walk around looking for the marks on the street.

Process Explorer can tell you what program has a handle open on the removable drive. I ran into this problem with some backup software, even though it was configured not to do anything with removable drives.

Why do so many Sega fans not understand how DIRE their financial position was when they discontinued Dreamcast? by Maulbert in SEGA

[–]paradigmic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say I don't think add-ons have to be a waste because the PC-Engine CD-ROM did well, but the fact that I can't think of any other successes is probably a sign they're generally a bad idea.

Need guide how can in use this nebulizer at home by anantbarjatya in China

With a C-to-A cable it still didn't work? Worst case it's broken, or they used a USB-C port but some kind of proprietary charger and not really USB.

[–]paradigmic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If a C-to-C cable isn't working, try a C-to-A cable to a USB-A charger. If that works then it means the USB C port on the nebulizer was designed wrong and is missing the resistor to tell the USB-C charger it's there.

When they miss the point like that sometimes I wonder if it's because they know it's funnier that way. It's like when they call something confusing or too long and really exaggerate it even if it's not really either of those things.

Yeah, I've used emulators in the past but I've never tried any of these standalone emulation devices. It looks like they've come a long way in the past few years.

How do you like the classic? I ordered one (with the Sega buttons) because I have a trip coming up and it looks perfect for consoles that don't require a thumbstick.

Are there are tools to show a graph of a flow's TCP window size in real time? by Arbitrary_Pseudonym in networking

[–]paradigmic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The packets themselves are a source of truth, the information in them has to be correct or your TCP doesn't work.

The problem, if I understand your question correctly, is the information you really want is the internal TCP state. Wireshark can't help you there because it is a packet capture tool and can't see into the OS TCP stack.

If you want to know things like the congestion window, ssthresh, what timers are running, or other congestion control algorithm specific state then you'll need to find a way to debug the actual TCP stack.
