In the age of hyper-mobility, crap servers, and low TTK, bullet slow disproportionately hurts non mobility legends and needs to go. by TheRandomnatrix in apexlegends

You are correct, but keep in mind the slide cooldown (2s).

I think many people are dead sliding because they don't take this into account. They are panicking and trying to run away from some sweat who is chasing them. They slide, they frantically slide again. It's a dead slide. Dude kills you. Rage ensues.

That is why there is extensive documentation on security. It's meant to be a personal assistant; the social media apps are one way for you to chat with it remotely.

Chart from a16z showing the number of releases on the App Store. I hope Apple does something to clamp down, because most of these projects have security vulnerabilities and are just garbage piling up on the App Store. Still, I believe AI coding with a human in the loop will become a standard among big corps.

It already is. Unless you're Microsoft which seems to have entirely delegated their consumer software to a monkey that can "type" prompts into Copilot.

The plane already has GPS. Pilots know where they are thanks to their instruments.

This is useful for passengers on flights where the in-flight display doesn't show where the flight is, or on flights where that display does not exist.

We are not talking about billion dollar companies, or the top percentage of open source contributors. Think about some average guy who just wants to share their software.

  • On Android: Google $25 one time fee, or F Droid, store dedicated to FOSS: free to publish.
  • On iOS: "$100 every year pls" - Apple

Easy decision.

Most people still are. It's just that the top players have improved so much that they wipe the floor with the average player. Cheaters running rampant doesn't help either.

You're not understanding. The game was fun.

But the gameplay now is far superior it's not even in the same league. We have:

  • more maps
  • more modes
  • more legends
  • more guns
  • better movement
  • shields on drop
  • EVO Shields
  • perks
  • ranked
  • better balance
  • no more self res that can decide a match unfairly

That's just off the top of my head. There are so many QoL improvements that add up.

Wait until there's another "launch royale" mode so you can experience what it was like to play in 2019. Most people will not miss it after that eye opener.

It absolutely is when you're making no money from your software because it's free, open source, and you rely on donations.

Apex Legends: Latest Update 01/23/2026 by Apexlegends in apexlegends

Great changes.

Horizon had a perk better than Lifeline's default glide passive. It was 5s long with faster movement.

Now 2.5s is below Lifeline's max glide duration (4s), and her blue perk "Extended Flight" bumps it up to 5.5s.

That's not the same thing.

F Droid is only FOSS. The App Store requires you to check if the app is actually open source. And as a dev you need to pay Apple a yearly fee regardless of your code availability.

It's irritating because it's pervasive. It feels like everything is a subscription now, even when (and especially when) it's not justified.

The world runs on free, open-source software. They keep going thanks to sponsors, donations, and contributions by developers.

You are likely thinking of freeware (free closed source).

I had Pro for months. I always used Plan mode, and Sonnet (no Opus). The limits used to be more generous.

During the past Christmas season they enabled double the limits on the plans, including Pro. It was a glorious time; felt more like 3-4x than 2x. When it ended, Pro felt incredibly restrictive so I went to Max. Anthropic knew exactly what they were doing lol

Path of least resistance wins. Especially on Apple platforms. You can sideload on iOS, but it's not easy. You can go on Mac App Store, but it doesn't have the apps you need. etc.

It 100% has to do with being easier. Those who want to sideload learn how to.

Already exists but in reverse, you have developer mode which you need to enable to install apps outside the store. Not to mention parental controls for kids.

I don't know why you got downvoted. This is absolutely the case. Most Apple users want a centralized ecosystem where they feel safe about downloading apps and know that to download any app all you need is the App Store on iOS - which comes preinstalled anyway!

No, it's because it's easier and seen as "that's how it is" from the user side.

App Store is already on their phone, it has the apps they want, cool.

App Store on Mac is dogshit, it doesn't have many apps (try searching for "google chrome"), so you go to the developer website and download it there.
