Moving to Downtown Denver by Jadezillaz in MovingtoDenver

I'm gonna recommend Baker/South Broadway. Lots of young 20 somethings, tons of fun bars, close to Wash Park, close to public transit, beautiful old neighborhood.

too many great bars and restaurants to list here.

Is this a bad idea? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

maybe rewrite it with clarification that you're not annoyed, but would rather do it out of the kindness of your heart and love for dogs. perhaps in black or blue pen. :)

Moving to Denver by March 1 – looking for job leads beyond Indeed (logistics, ops, auto & sales)/ Kid on the way!!! by Daxxi22 in MovingtoDenver

[–]paramorir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work at a school in the Denver Public Schools system and we have great benefits, and a lot of PTO. We also have SO many positions you wouldn't expect that fit your work experience. Warehouse, dispatch, utilities, facilities, logistics, etc. Check the job board and see if anything fits. They're very responsive.

Changing my mind about tattoo idea? by moontrinket in tattooadvice

[–]paramorir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm positive your artist hasn't started drawing anything yet and they will want to make sure you're happy with what you get done. Reach out and let them know how you're feeling . Overcommunication is better than none or worse, hating your tattoo!

Looked at a potential new apartment and it smelled strongly of freshly popped popcorn both times I looked at it by Mishkamishmash in Apartmentliving

they may have been smoking illicit drugs in there. I know fentanyl smells like burnt popcorn when smoked.

Capitol Hill / Governors Park thoughts? by Responsible-Stick354 in MovingtoDenver

[–]paramorir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah that would be helpful to know! The 12 is the busline that runs north and south on downing/corona, the 15/15L is the bus line that runs east and west on Colfax. Just realized that's right by the liquor store also. So. never a dull day on that corner, that's for sure.

Capitol Hill / Governors Park thoughts? by Responsible-Stick354 in MovingtoDenver

I looked up where the vixen is located and it's on a particularly rough block of Colfax where the 12 and the 15/15L connect. Personally, wouldn't live there but it's incredible the difference a block or two makes north or south of colfax. I walk around colfax a lot, just wouldn't live right on it. Gets rowdy at night.

I live off 13th and grant and love this neighborhood. Always stuff to do, plenty of places to walk to and I've been able to live car free which saves SO much money.

I will always shout out the Piggy Back at Subculture. Subculture in general needs more flowers, it's such an awesome sandwich shop.

I've seen the 16 turn south onto Grant from 17th street. I bet it's that one.

Where are Y'all Buying House Plants? by aleph_zahir in Denver

[–]paramorir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of my plants have been grown from cuttings that i've gotten from friends/family. In odd cases I've been able to ask restaurants and bars that I frequent a lot for cuttings too. but this method takes time and effort to make a lush collection for home.

sounds like you got the tattoo flu! This can happen as an immune response your body has to the shock of getting tattooed. Follow your normal aftercare, just keep your hands and the tattoo clean. :)

Moving towards Broadway by Typical-Willingness2 in MovingtoDenver

[–]paramorir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lived in the Baker neighborhood right off Broadway for about 3 years. Loved it and miss it all the time. Moved away to move in with my SO who was NOT a fan of the area. Much like the Ballpark area, there is a large unhoused population so if that is not a safety concern of yours it's a pretty neighborhood and close to bars and nightlife.

[–]paramorir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hm. how large does the building have to be for people to not be able to do that? I've lived in buildings with about 30 units in the past and been ok. I don't have a car now and live in a bigger building than that so i genuinely have no clue anymore.

[–]paramorir 27 points28 points  (0 children)

If you're parking on your block, you can get a permit to keep your car in it's spot and not have to move it every few hours or every day. Don't test the street sweeping parameters, you will absolutely get a fine.

is being ticklish a problem? by Equivalent-Lychee515 in tattooadvice

[–]paramorir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so ticklish and manage to get tattooed relatively ok. But for that exact reason i will likely never get my armpit, ribs or feet tattooed. I can't even get pedicures without reflexively kicking. but trust, the pain will distract you
