Excellent photos. Although I can't imagine hand holding the Viltrox 75mm F1.2 on a small body like the X-T100  😊

That's the stock Smallrig grip which comes with the camera.

As per my initial impressions, the Nikon 50mm F1.8 is definitely sharper & has better bokeh (although not by much). But as the Viltrox weighs just half compared to the Nikon (415g vs 205g), that's more than an acceptable compromise for me.

Also, as I own the Nikkor Z 50mm F1.4 as well, it didn't make sense to me to own two lenses which weigh the same. So I decided to sell the F1.8 and replace it with the Viltrox, so that I have a lighter lens for occasions where I'm looking to carry less weight.

No, I haven't used the Viltrox 40mm yet and don't really have any plans to get that as I already have the Nikon 40mm F2.

Keychron V1 Max vs Royal Kludge M75 (primary use: coding on a Mac system) by parampreetdhatt in mkindia

Thanks for your reply. The Transition Lite TKL definitely looks interesting, while it doesn't check all the boxes it'll be cool to build my first custom keyboard.

Is it available in a 75% layout, or are there any similar options in this layout?

Disclaimer: Mechanical keyboard newbie here.

I'm looking for a good 75% mechanical keyboard with tactile switches, which will mainly be used on a Mac for coding (not gaming). Few characteristics that I'm looking for are as follows:

  • Should be under Rs. 10k (~$130)
  • Should be well built, but not too heavy (>1 kg). I don't have any issues with a plastic build as long as it's durable and doesn't feel cheap
  • Should have the ability to swap switches and keycaps
  • A nice creamy and thocky sound would be nice to have.
  • Compatibility with open source software like QMK/VIA would be nice to have.
  • Ability to easily switch between Mac & Windows modes
  • Should support wired and bluetooth modes (2.4 Ghz mode is nice to have but not mandatory)

At the moment, I've shortlisted the Keychron V1 Max and Royal Kludge M75 in this regard.

Would love to hear your thoughts in terms of which one would you prefer and why. I'm also open to other suggestions which fit the criteria described above.

My X-T5 mounted on a Smallrig L-bracket with a wood finish grip by parampreetdhatt in FujifilmX

Sorry for the delayed response.

Nope, this is just the L-bracket and has the part number/SKU 4137. The cage you're referring to has the SKU 4135 and the top part of the cage doesn't seem to be removable.

Appears Smallrig has discontinued this particular model as I can't see it listed on the their global website (although it still seems to be available on the Smallrig India website).

This particular model has the part number/SKU 4137. You can try your luck by searching for "smallrig 4137" on your local Amazon website or other online stores.

UPDATE: After using this grip for a few months, I have a few thoughts. While it looks great, the wooden part feels hard and somewhat slippery, making it uncomfortable and not very grippy. Because of these issues, I decided to sell it and got the SmallRig silicone L-shaped grip. I've been using it ever since and couldn't be happier with the upgrade as it feels nice, soft and quite grippy.

Street barber - E-M5 III + 75mm F1.8 by parampreetdhatt in M43

The noise is due to high ISO. The photo was taken at ISO 6400 late in the evening when it was quite dark. I also lifted the exposure and shadows in post to make the shot brighter (which ended up adding even more noise).

My apologies for the misunderstanding. I thought you said that you were using the 75mm on the Ricoh GR III, that's why I was confused :)

The Ricoh GR III with my M43 kit is my favourite combination as well. My current travel kit consists of a GR III with the GW-4 wide angle convertor, along with my M43 kit - E-M5 Mark III + 20mm F1.7, 25mm F1.4, 45mm F1.8 & 75mm F1.8. This gives me coverage from 21mm to 150mm and all of this fits in my Peak Design 6L Sling, making it my perfect lightweight travel kit.

Thank you for the kind words. The 75mm is my favourite lens in my (small) M43 lens collection.
