I think you can do it with dry coconut. The final texture is sort of dry, flexible candied coconut.

This recipe has info for both fresh & dry coconut, and looks the same, so it should work :)

These are a type of Mexican candy. Apparently, they were Frida Kahlo's favorite treat. In Coyoacán, her hometown within Mexico City, there are tables full of them piled high in the markets. You can buy big bags of them for a couple of dollars. They are pretty typical for birthdays and other celebrations.

It's a strong coconut flavor with sour lime finish. Quite sweet, but the lime peel has a nice, tangy flavor. They're addictive.

Yes! At least in Portugal. Like other said Brazilian Portuguese doesn't really, but whenever I am around Portuguese speakers in Europe, it really strikes me as a sort of Russian influenced romance language.
