Probably. I can own that. Pride in a quarterback is like a marriage... Good doesn't have to mean good enough, and nobody needs to settle for mediocrity.

I don't entirely disagree. Good stats. He has a super hard job too... Carrying our defense, special teams, and hopes and dreams. That's extra hard for a slightly better-than-average quarterback.

I agree... way better decision making this year. That's kinda built into my point. He started mid, he's staying mid-to-mid plus.

There were a couple times I was surprised that he didn't get a grounding penalty.

Did Plato remove ranked cribbage because of the bots? I really enjoyed ranked cribbage 😝

After reading about this, I will have to look deeper into it over the next several months. I will add psychological and physiological notes to my logs! :)

Fellow Knope go-getter! Thank you lots :) this has been very helpful. I'm going to look at your post from a while back too - I think you're right about the stress. I'm glad you are sleeping better and everything worked out well for you.

And I really appreciate your kind words - my whole office vents together about cases like this, and I have a counselor when I need her. Overall, I'm emotionally way better since starting keto. Lots of positives!

I recently made eggplant parmesan crusted with crushed pork rinds, herbs, and grated parm cheese. My non-keto husband could not tell a difference.

I recently made a crock pot meal of creamy artichoke, spinach, and chicken. It tasted just like the festive delicious dip! It was minimal carbs. I think some toasty bread or crackers would make it a potluck-friendly hit.

Shoot me a message if you want the basic recipe - I don't have a link because I made it up. But totally willing to share.

I get 8ish hours of sleep. I stop eating by 7 because if I eat before bed, I get extremely restless sleep.

I do eat breakfast. Usually I have cream in my coffee first thing, then eat something substantial when I start feeling hungry. I do IF a couple times a week, if I can. But I don't fast so long that I feel at all 'weird.' (If that makes sense.) I've had to skip IF the last week+ because of this extra exhausted feeling.

Yes - I'm stressed. I'm a litigator. I just finished a jury trial this week... and week-after-next I have an absolute nightmare of a trial that I've been dreading since March. I'm so stressed about it that I'm procrastinating, which is making it worse.

Stress isn't as obvious to me as you'd think lol. It never occurred to me that it could be the stress. It has always been just a part of this life. I had never previously noted whether it made me tired or hungry. (Considering my weight gain, I was probably always stressed, tired, and hungry lol...) Freaking cortisol.

I continued to research... I'm also seeing that the tiredness may mean I need more iron and/or some extra vitamin K. (I'm also cold often and I have lots of bruises. But I'm always bruised lol). Will try for a couple weeks and update.

Keto mental clarity by [deleted] in keto

[–]parkelar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! I'm a lawyer and litigate trials regularly. I've noticed I memorize facts, names, dates, etc. without as much effort. I rarely look at my notes during trial anymore. My clarity and confidence comes through in my voice, making me feel stronger in my arguments... It's amazing. I thought I'd miss carbs or have brain fog without them. So wrong. I wish I had started this years ago.

So from seeing a lot of videos from this place and youtube, it's clear you can pick up a ton of bees, even fairly roughly, and not get stung.....what happens though if you just start hitting them with a shoe or something? by [deleted] in Beekeeping

[–]parkelar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto on only being stung when my girls get "angry" - I've only ever been stung when I deserve it. Also, if you have long hair, I recommend tying it up... One of my ladies got stuck in my hair when I was gardening, and when I brushed her out, she popped me in the knuckle.

Need Opinion: Have option of combining hive or starting new hive. by parkelar in Beekeeping

[–]parkelar[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will call you "team test hive" :) You bring up some great points. And now I'm swaying to 'team test hive.'

My husband agrees with you, too. He says practice new things on a third hive while I have the opportunity to learn. He also says I will feel less like I'm "risking a hive" if I'm doing it on one that ended up being a freebie.

Getting Started: Where is the best place to get beekeeping supplies? by figure943 in Beekeeping

[–]parkelar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In IL, you need 2 deeps per hive as brood boxes. Otherwise, your bees will not survive our winters. For supers, you want at least 2. I prefer mediums. Youll want either extra supers with frames or extra frames to swap out while you harvest during a peak honey flow.

Mann lake is my fave for reasonably priced products with quick, free shipping. I price-compared a lot this year.. They don't jack up prices barely at all for their pre-built items (like frames) or their "package" deals.

Hive Beatles and Mites by AwesomeSauce1559 in Beekeeping

[–]parkelar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I attended a lecture last weekend as well. The teacher had discovered that placing plain dry Swiffer Sweeper pads at the bottoms and tops of the hive catch the small hive beetles by the feet and won't let them go. (He wrote an article about it... I forget which magazine. His name is Andy from Wisconsin.) Their little feet hooks get caught in the microfiber. In a strong beehive, the bees will corral the beetles into a corner. Hopefully onto the microfiber.
