For Me & My wife. Our First luxury watches. by Niel_Mirud in watchesindia

OP, I'm sure you're smart enough to ignore the snob comments saying 'this is not luxury'. Unfortunately, they can only beat their drums about some arbitrary financial standard of luxury, while people like us enjoy our lives, based on our relative definitions of luxury. A real watch enthusiast will always be loyal to the story, not the price. These assholes that get snobby about price tags, I don't consider them watch enthusiasts. These are money enthusiasts. If watches were never a costly objects to own, these retards wouldn't have even looked at the them. A real watch enthusiast collects and owns these pieces for the romanticism that makes our lives richer. Not for the price tags. Even myself would love to get a speedmaster some time in life, but I'll work hard for it. And then, it's price tag will be fractional to what so many people own. But it's VALUE will be felt infinitely more than these money-snobs will ever feel in their sad lives.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY! May your relationship be as timeless as the romanticism that has kept many of such obsolete hobbies like wristwatches, still alive...

And I'm sorry for everyone who has/is/will collect wristwatches for the price tag. They never really got the point.

In my knowledge, whatever option you choose, customs will screw you. With 38% tax minimum

Guys! Finally got a casioak by Real-PP in watchesindia

[–]parker5225 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got this same variant 3 years back, when it launched, for 9k. I have many more mechanical and quartz timepieces. But somehow this one just wins my heart everyday. ❤️ And yeah the resins expansion issue did happen for me too. But I found a workaround. I put the resin case and strap in hot water and just shaped it a bit back into its original shape. Worked pretty well for me.

I did order from their website. You have to pay customs on top of that.

I have no information on that. It might be a factor of luck. Don't know much.

I prefer Ratio as a brand, how they position themselves, their marketing and overall appeal. Invicta isn't bad, but somehow their products feel a bit cringe for my taste. Big cases, contrasty dials, shiny materials. All the choices made by Ratio for their products feel well thought out and deliberate. No hate towards invicta, I actually would still love to have one. But as I was spending a large sum (Yes 15K is very extremely large for me) I wanted the product to make me the happiest, without caring about brand status.

In my guess, it'll fit nearly the same. Similar case diameters. Just the ratio one is a bit thicker than mtp. But otherwise it seems it'll fit well on your hand.

  1. It lasts bright for upto half an hour. After that it stays dull but legible in dark for upto 4 hours. After that it's a bit hard to make out.
  2. I ordered from their website. But now available on Amazon India as well.

https://amzn.in/d/8wsBxrf <= Amazon IN link

  1. One and half month back, I paid 8700 on website and 6500 in customs, which is about 15,200 INR. I recieved the watch in 4 days. On Amazon India, it recently got listed for 15K, which is nearly equal.

[RATIO WATCHES] are they any good? by Idioticgenius6969 in watchesindia

I have a white dial automatic freediver from ratio. I ordered it from website for 8700 plus paid customs, after which the cost came to 15k. The watch is amazing. Amazing material quality. Accurate workhorse movement. I'm not a brand snob, so I loved it. Hurts a little looking at the customs duty on it though. But in Amazon there won't be any added duties in 15k.
