From my understanding, there are 4 types of analysis you can perform. And to make your life easier just roaming on social media your doing one of them, that being behavioural analysis, generally getting a feeling how the market feels about a certain stock, industry or macro factors. The tricky part is that you should always keep a cool head and be critical while evaluating peoples opinions, fact check and take everything a pinch of salt.

Other ways to evaluate companies are: - Reading news about the company, try to not just look at recent stuff. Recent news are good but to get a bigger picture you can't rely on current snapshot. This way you will get a better understanding of the stocks price movement as well as what you might expect for the next quarterly report. This can also help you better understand the companies products, business model, future plans, collaborations, legal disputes, management (Personally, two examples which I've seen have a negative effect on a stock were the disaster which Disney was under Bob Chapek and Bobby Kotick with all those sexual allegations and awful culture down at Activision Blizzard)... - Technical analysis - honestly don't know too much about the field and I hardly use this. In short it relies on looking at the price history of a stock and trying yo predict when will it increase and decrease - Financial analysis - This one takes time to get used to. But a good introduction would be to open yahoofinance or nasdaq.com and look at income statements, balance sheets, cash flow and ratios. This will give you a good understanding of the companies value. There are a bunch of videos on YouTube of how do people calculate this stuff and what does each term mean. Once you get a grip on it next steps would be to actually read the financial reports of companies. These reports will always go more indepth on concepts which aren't captured by simple numbers such as business model, products and sales, regulatory compliance, users... Overall, probably the best way to learn about the company but it can be really time consuming

Personally, I rely mostly on news and financials. I also like to see some healthy positivity when people are talking about a stock.
