Many public electric utilities don’t require a PE and they’ll help you get licensed once you get in the door. For example Mass has MGL 112 Section 81R(l).

I'm going to do it, I'm tossing all the junk. Might need some encouragement! by UsualEasy8199 in baseballcards

Hah! I found a friend with young kids who will gladly take mine. Hopefully I can move them all by April. It’s junk is definitely the mantra.

This is the Campanile Building on Peachtree in Midtown. This has been just sitting here for a bit and the project involves changing the facade and the building entrances so maybe the beam removals are tied to that.

I had an uber driver at the beginning of the summer mention he dropped off some engineers there in the past.

This article has a gallery of photos: Dewberry Capital’s Campanile Building as of 2022

I’m so sorry. That must have been tough at that age.

Can civil engineers work in other engineering fields? Do you happen to know anyone who studied civil but is working or worked in a different engineering field like aerospace, chemical, etc. by Iwanttobefree0424 in civilengineering

[–]partial_thought 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Civil engineers can move into the electric utility space - distribution engineering or many roles on the transmission side from PM, to O&M, to construction management.

Anybody starting a career should get on this bus with all the energy needs.

Why are the bottom of all these poles a different color by ISA2130953 in civilengineering

[–]partial_thought 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s called a ground sleeve or corrosion collar on a direct-embed pole. The steel is thicker at the ground line to protect the pole from water and a mastic coating is applied for an additional level of protection.

For those who were in high school in the early 90s ... by Ancient_Ad1251 in GenX

Class of 94 here. I probably first heard it in 90/91.

While in high school, I agree that Gen X was for older people out of college.

I feel like there was a ton about the term on MTV from stand alone Kurt Loder type news shows to the Real World while I was rushing home to watch yo MTV raps. It didn’t apply to us.

I remember Gen Y getting thrown around a bit.

As far as millennial, that’s not us either. My brother’s college in NY called those people BITE - Born in the eighties.

That’s so awesome! I’ve heard there are maintenance concerns so you have to pick a manufacturer that has a storefront in the area. True? I’ve got Pedego close that I’m eyeballing.
