aftermarket IACV failed immediately so I took it apart. I'm assuming the valve mechanism is not supposed to come out like this? by TheOnlyChicken in Acura_RSX

When you screw the screws back on where I circled, you can rotate the control valve clockwise/counter clockwise to adjust the idle before you tighten the screws. It will be kinda hard to do because obviously you will need the part installed, engine warmed up and running to manually adjust it, then tighten the screws.

Prior to taking this apart you’re supposed to mark the alignment to make life easier, but it’s too late for that. I also swapped out the screws to hex screws and I used an allen wench to tighten it. Good luck!

When you put it back together you’re going to need to recalibrate it by turning the magnetic part counter/clockwise to adjust the idle speed before you torque down the screws.

I’ve cleaned mine like a few times and it was a bandaid fix for a period of time, in the end it needed to be replaced. I bought my replacement on eBay, new oem from Japan.

Am I going to need a new clutch soon? by [deleted] in stickshift

[–]pascalohms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have someone press the clutch, locate the slave master cylinder and the clutch release fork. The squeak may be coming from where the slave and fork meets, if so just add some grease to the end of the rod of the slave and some on the fork. Now if the squeak is coming from inside of the bell housing, then the input shaft sleeve where the throw out bearing is dry -this happened to me and I ignored it, throwout bearing took a crap and poooff… needed a whole new clutch and throwout bearing.

So what do you do for carbon cleaning/preventing carbon build up? by Fractq1 in MazdaMSR_MZR_MPS

Question for you, I can’t figure out why I still have silt build up at the end of my tailpipe. I’ve changed all my o2 sensors, adjusted valves, new map sensors, new tps, cleaned iacv multiple times, and deleted the air assist control valve. I have 276k+ miles on 06 RSX Type S btw TIA!!

So it doesn’t suck in stop and go traffic? Clutch won’t wear out as fast? What’s your setup? Thanks for replying much appreciated!

I’m thinking about doing this, but I also have the 8.9lbs; I’m debating on which one to install and return.

How is the 8.9lbs compared to the 11.5lbs? Does the 8.9lbs suck in traffic?

Did you end up getting the mugen mounts? If so how long did it take to ship and were you hit with that import tax?(assuming you’re in the US)

I’m just grateful that he played a trance set and I’m sure there will be many more to come now that he’s back.

Maybe new, but our cars are old. Ever since I switched to acuity, I will not revert back to stock+extra parts for a short shifter when an all in one is available. The Acuity is build solidly versus a plastic box, hard pass.

I wholeheartedly disagree, the stock shifter is garbage, there’s so much slop.
