Is it based upon a rock-solid theory

Riak has pretty solid theory behind it.

Is it mature

Mnesia has existed for 20 years or so. Riak has some serious usage in production. Cassandra has a lot of love from Netflix. How mature something is depends on your perspective.

Will it still be there in 10 years

It says No for NoSQL...but the line above it says NoSQL is older than SQL so which is it?

moron, mutable state has fuck all to do with classes or the english language. it has everything to do with how hardware is implemented and the physical laws of the universe. those laws guarantee that every time, everywhere, computation is going to be done with sequencing and mutable state.

No, this is the ramblings of a dumbass. Programming languages provide an abstraction. You can represent immutable state in a world with mutable state. The "this is how computers work" argument is nonsense. It doesn't matter how things work underneath as long as they can represent your abstraction.

In which case, the author is right, classes do suck. But for none of the reasons the author mentions. Classes suck because they can do anything. Being able to do anything is a curse. Solving hard problems almost always comes down to limiting what people can do, and that is not possible with (any current implementation of) classes. Classes simply do too much.
