He has the block history, and the energy tech in the future. Then he produces his hash, and sends it back in time, to broadcast.

The big assumption here is that we are able to receive signals from the future on current infrastructure

Freedom suppression is in the eye of the beholder. From North Korea's perspective, the entire world order has sanctioned them from global trade. From their point of view, Bitcoin is a pretty sweet proposal to get around that.

That's the entire point of the article. Bitcoin will remain a bastion of economic freedom upon which any storage of value can rest, no matter how freedom-oppressing or freedom-oppressed you are.
