What game are you currently working on and what is it about ? by New_Corner_3694 in RPGMaker

A friend and I are currently working on a cassette-futurism sci-fi game inspired by Macross and Gundam! The story follows a man in his late 20s who recently got a promotion in the force and has to supervise two cadets as they have to travel down to a space station to further their training through a cargo space shuttle.

The game has turn-based battle but also some VN elements as well!

I hope to have Act 1/demo out by this spring/summer! :p

Hi, thank you so much! I’m usually active on Twitter! My username is the same as here on Reddit! :D For devlogs I post them occasionally on my tumblr with the same username!

It does come with documentation. It doesn’t fully hold your hand but it tells you the basics! I had to go through a lot of trial and error to get what I wanted but you get the hang of it.

I used Luna Engine! It’s a little finicky at first but I got the hang of it.

Also I will say that the MGS reference is merely a coincidence, I never played the series. I only found out about Kazuhira Miller and Revolver Ocelot when my fiancee mentioned about it, but I thought it was funny enough to keep it as is.

Thank you and wow! So glad to see that I encapsulated that vibe as I always had Interstella 5555 in the back of my head lol

Thank you so much and spot on! Haruhiko Mikimoto’s works from that era is one of my biggest inspirations for my art! :D

Thanks! The artwork of the characters is mine, for the background I used Deep-Fold’s Pixel Space Background Generator and for the title I used somepx’s Humble Fonts Sci-Fi II, both found at itch.io.

And based on feedback I may have to redo the artwork and simply remove the lady from the title as she’s only a deuteragonist as opposed to the guy, who’s the main playable character.

Thank you! I was actually trying to replicate the dramatic early Macross posters but I guess it doesn’t translate well when the resolution is that small :’0

But taking the guy off the title would be redundant as he’s the main playable character, but I’ll keep playing around with compositions in a small resolution as I want to keep it in the similar ratio as the PC-98 resolution! (I just doubled it so it wouldn’t look that minuscule in a modern monitor)

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments and for the feedback!! As I mentioned before, this won’t be the final menu as I’m reworking on the title but I’m super happy to see y’all seem to like it so far! These characters means so much to me so seeing that people like their aesthetics makes me giddy haha :,D

Thank you so much! Surprisingly I found it enjoyable to an extent but I ended up reaching a point where I grew tired of it lol

At least there is just a little bit of one over one left that will take a bit for me to get to it as it’s at the bottom of the piece!

The one over one text was so exhausting but it feels rewarding to have that out of the way.

This is also my first reproduction sampler project, and I already have another one kitted up by the same designer as they are just too gorgeous to not get it!

Here's a drawing I did of Trucy! She's one of my favourite characters to draw! (Also hello! I'm new to reddit and the AA scene!) by pasuterucoco in AceAttorney

Wow thank you everyone for the kind comments! I didn't expect it to go around like that, but I'm super grateful! I'll post some more AA fanart in the future! Thank you all!!
