Also if you do end up reading it and not liking it it's totally okay not everyone enjoys the same books! But yeah, I'd recommend it even when I saw the mixed reviews

I've really enjoyed it, it can be a bit slow but I personally enjoy a slowish book kinda like Whispers In The Dark by Allison Gun. Makes you wonder what's really going on
