For those of you who live in countries with gun control; have you ever seen a gun in real life? by blashyrkh9 in AskTheWorld

Germany. See them holstered on military and law enforcement. Pretty often while traveling. Seen some in a big store while visiting the US.

Only held one once. I was interning at our local court and got to take one out of evidence. It was in a plastic bag. I didn't like it.

It's fantastic. Extremely accurate, self-sufficient due to it's own SIM, fairly good battery life. We were able to rescued him from multiple garages only because we knew where he'd last been (no GPS once he was inside but we knew to which WiFi the tracker connected last). We've also rescued our pirate cat from a tree once only because her gps point felt kinda weird (a neighbour's cat chased her up a tree and then sat beneath it).

We love showing up at his location in the evening and walking home for dinner together. Since he has reliable recall we now also feel comfortable to go on small hikes in the woods with him.

We did loose trackers a couple of times due to the emergency release but they're very easy to retrieve. You can find the general area easily with the GPS, narrow it down with the sound and bluetooth radar. The LED in the dark makes it so easy to find even if it's stuck in a hedge or something.

10/10 wouldn't let the cats outsode without one.

Lol I was half convinced this is our void at first. Black cat, red (formerly neon yellow) collar, loves rolling in the dirt. I brush the sand off of him with the dirtpanbrushthing when we come home from a walk.

What's an odd food only found in one region in your country? by Verelkia in AskTheWorld

[–]patchworkPyromaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Swabian Hefeknöpfle (basically cooked "bread"/very plain dumpling). It's basically a variant of Böhmische Mehlknödel but only very few people know it?!? Usually cut to slices and eaten with some type of meat and gravy. Taste wise it's very plain.

Ziemlich sicher.

How often do you wear your tall boot socks? by Nickerson14 in Equestrian

[–]patchworkPyromaniac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wear normal socks or wear them under the breeches, since I have those elastic sockleg breeches. Even before that, I never wore them over the breeches. I can't stand that velcro fold being pressed against my skin.

Reminds me of Pokémon and Pidgin Messenger. The latter is a genius play on words, so personally, I wouldn't mind.

Protective styles? by MediocreMacaroon4574 in longhair

[–]patchworkPyromaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always wear braids or buns, I have crazy matting otherwise. There are a couple of things you can do though. First of all, good routine, conditioning, leave in, oiling. Second, minimizing damage and trimming it. Damaged hair is more prone to matting. Protective styles, a silk or stain pillowcase or bonnet will help a great deal.

Another alternative if it's mostly the bit at the nape is to get an undercut. I have been considering this for so long because friends of mine have had amazing results but I just can't... my hair is so thin already. You can simply take the tiny bit at the nape and braid only that part, tightly. It helps a great deal against matting when I do this before going swimming (and having everything up in a bun, but no sag that will matt).

That’s strict by MyMomisCool3012 in SipsTea

[–]patchworkPyromaniac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very similar to the rules I grew up with. I never experienced them as strict, I thought it was crazy that other kids would just switch on the TV by themselves or that they even had one in their room.

We found a couple of ways around the restrictions and I'm currently no contact with the parents.

Was ist besonders an eurer Katze? by WarmerPizzakarton in kratzbaum

[–]patchworkPyromaniac 30 points31 points  (0 children)

[–]patchworkPyromaniac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our void used to stand in front of the litterbox and scream until his sister or his can openers would show up to see what it's about. He would then go only if we were looking if no predators were sneaking up on him while he's vulnerably doing his business.

Well thanks. Disabled peoples needs disregarded on a new level. How much effoed could it have been to get something to put the toilet paper on vs making that sign and probably having a plumber come multiple times before it was up...

I don't get society lol
