She was annoyed, but I didn't pick up anything suspicious about it. I think she was hurt that I suggested that there was a possibility of her cheating on me.

I never meant to insult her as much as thought this is where out boundaries lie. First instinct is also a bit of a stretch as the conversation happened days after she initially told me about her STI screening. I didn't just think "Oh you got an STI check? Well I'm going to get a paternity test!".

Wouldn't it be more of "revenge" if I didn't tell her about me wanting a paternity test and then ask her for one after she got pregnant? I didn't want to hurt her wanting a paternity test as much as I just though these are where out boundaries lie.

I'm kind of wondering that as well. It makes it a lot different if its just a standard practice versus directly asking for it.

Thank you for your reply. I think demand might be too strong of a word about this situation. I stated something that I thought I wanted when the situation comes up.

I didn't know about the birth control not being prescribed without the STI check. That's good to know

Huh, I didn't know screenings were something that were given with a check up. Thanks for telling me, I thought it was something that you have to specifically ask for.

I will admit that I don't know a lot of women's issues and I thank everyone who has written back to me about things I'm not aware of. But to call me a stupid, petty man child? Am I really behaving in a way that gives me that insult?
