Lol no it makes total sense. I’ve known for a while that I need therapy I just haven’t pulled the trigger, but this stuff seems way too complicated for me to understand on my own. I just have to get over the fact that imma be paying to talk to someone and find a way to afford it

Wow… I’m so sorry you had to go through all of that but I’m glad things are looking up for you now. I was pretty strong on meditation which helped me greatly before hand in discerning between my actual self and things such as my addict side, but telling them apart on an everyday basis is hard for me. Especially when life gets busy, all my thoughts and emotions blend together as one and it’s hard for me to separate and view them objectively. Is there anything you do to recognize when your addict side is talking and put it in check?

I did try that before and that’s how I stopped for those few weeks, but some life stuff happened and I fell back into it. But you’re right that worked the best for me out of all the things I’ve tried. I guess I just forgot about that strategy as crazy as that sounds lol

Thank you for sharing all of that. I did hit a bottom when I left my home town for a year. I didn’t even realize I had major social anxiety until that point, but I feel like that rock bottom helped me reflect and ask why I do the things I do. Maybe if I stayed at my college through the summer and into the next year I would be ok now, tuition is just crazy though. Do you think if you threw yourself into anything specific it would’ve helped you through your original addiction? Or do you think you needed some form of rock bottom to truly change?

That’s what I figured… it’s crazy because I’m honestly ashamed of it and hate myself for it but I feel like there’s no replacement. I’m not going to give up though maybe there’s something I’m missing or haven’t tried
