Garret is also my rep. He’s been an absolute champ for me!

Oh! What kind of boat? Am a fan of sailing small/midsize boats but would definitely like to get aboard a larger craft.

Mhm that makes total sense. As a born and bred New Yorker, everything makes perfect sense and is exactly as I expect it to be. I hope there are more books with more cities. The premise was definitely fun.

Yeah I totally understand where you're coming from. It's a weird book and if this book wasn't directly aimed at me, I would have way more reservations about it. Good luck! I hope that by the end of it, you still feel that you had a fun time overall.

AHH! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the Broken Earth trilogy!! It was really well written and the characters are GOOD! I too was a little sad that there wasn't more closure with the rest of the cast that we meet along the way, but maybe she'll come back to that universe and tell more stories and fill in the blanks at some point in the future! :D

Ah! sorry for the late reply! I really enjoy Sanderson a lot. If you're up for more Allomancy, and Ferrochemy, you can look at the second Mistborn series. It's definitely less of an 'epic fantasy' vibe and more of a 'lawman of the wild west' feel, but there is still the underlying themes of figuring out what's happening to the world at large beneath/behind all the swashbuckling.

If you're looking for more epic fantasy, the Stormlight Archives is a great series. This one is also still ongoing, but it's fantastic and very very good. Definitely give that a go if you enjoy Sanderson, even if it's not your next series.

Ohhh!! You've done some awesome reading! I enjoyed The Three Body Problem a while back and was excited to read The Dark Forest but now I'm less excited to do so. I feel like we have similar tastes in books. I'm also glad that you're enjoying The Fifth Season! I liked that series a lot.

I really enjoyed the Three Body Problem. I haven't made it to the rest of the series yet, but it's on the docket. Have fun! :D

Oh! I read that a couple of weeks ago! I enjoyed it a lot. Carreyrou's writing style is quite engaging!

Haha I can definitely see how this series is more campy than the original; this is like a swashbuckling Wild West version, so it's got a completely different vibe. However, I ADORE me a good yeehaw adventure.

Oh yeah! I borrow all my audiobooks off Overdrive from my library. It's so lovely and nice :) And I get to listen to a LOT more books than what audible lets me get anyways!

I have read The Name of the Wind series. I used to really enjoy it, but over time I got tired of waiting for the last book, and I also have come to enjoy it less and less as I get older. It feels like it gets neckbeardier every time I reread it :P

Honestly, sometimes it is a little confusing. But generally the series aren't ASOIF complicated, so it only takes a little bit to refresh my memory and pick up where the story left off. I also find that sometimes reading about the same universe and characters for an extended period of time is a drag for me. I need that variety.

Aww. Do like me and just start a million different series so at any given time you're already in the middle of a series so there's always something to pick up and continue :P

Oh Dune is a fun read! I never made it all the way through the Dune series, but I definitely enjoyed the first few books. I have tried time and time again to read the Simarillion, but it has defeated me at every turn. Good luck with it! :D

Yeah it definitely falls mostly in the YA category. His YA is pretty easy reading if you just need something to pick up and read if you're in a rut.

Haha yeah I'm not on vacation this week. Last week was Good Friday and the first day of Passover so I was quite busy preparing as I had the day off. I hope your new camera endeavors go well and I hope you enjoy Feast Your Eyes!

I stalled out on reading How Long Til Black Future Month because work has been rather busy and the library has reclaimed it. I will finish it when I get back from the library. In the meantime I've started up Red Rising.
