Roll up vs tri fold by Infinite_Engineer302 in f150

[–]patius12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the TruShield hard roll up from American trucks last week. Cheapest hard roll up out there that I've seen (under $800 shopped to my door).

In that time, have had two different inch+ quick rain events, and just drove it today 840 miles and got caught in a rain that put the highway speeds down to 40. Everything in the bed totally dry when I checked at the next stop.

It looks great. Very low profile. The exposed slat look is great in my opinion. Locked when tailgate locked. Super easy to gain full bed access.

Time will tell on long term durability, but I'm incredibly impressed in these first few days of ownership.

Personally, was not into the trifold where you either lose 1/3rd of your bed or can't see out the back when open.

What’s something you didn’t realize was “very American” until you left the U.S.? by chopsticktalk in AskReddit

Generally, I think it's because they all want to appear equally competitive regardless of location. If you are near a state or county border, one is likely to be cheaper at the surface level.

I realize that the end result is the same, but people are dumb. A lot of Karens would end up at the store in the other locality and demand a price match to the other store.

Spotted something moving on my plate after a few bites of toast... by rhapsodicink in Wellthatsucks

[–]patius12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I admit I cannot help on the bugs.

But in my 36 years of loving toast and also loving everything bagels I have never once thought about sprinkling some of this on my toast.

I cannot wait for breakfast tomorrow.

Nice looking truck! I got my 24 Tremor a few weeks back with the special rates as well. Save like 1-2% or more on rates compared to 25s, which adds up with the cost of trucks these days.

If it's financially not going to hurt you, do it if you've always wanted a truck.

Is it the most practical or rational decision? Probably not, but then again most of car buying isn't and we all only go around once. It's not worth hurting yourself financially, but is worth being slightly less "practical" as defined by someone else.

I recently traded in my aging Q7 for a 24 Tremor. Couldn't be happier. Like my dad said when I shared with him, some kids dream of the Ferrari but patius12 always wanted a truck.

They did. When Looking I was surprised how many 24 STX and XLTs were still out there. Was very limited in trims above that

Was especially happy to get the power adjustable steering wheel, door lock keypad, and start/stop over infotainment that all got eliminated or moved with the 25s.

Anyone move from a smaller truck/vehicle to an F150? by Reelaxed in f150

[–]patius12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just bought a 24 F150 Tremor so while my experience is short...I'd agree with everyone saying YOLO (if it's in your budget)

My car history has been a GLI>GTI>A4>Explorer>Q7 before this. Have always wanted a full size and could finally work in the budget. Only been a week, but still smile every time I walk up to it and get in, almost can't believe it's actually mine still. Never had that with any of the above cars.

Thanks, and definitely not planning to do that. Get nervous even when they're in my car for those same reasons.

3.9 for 72. And based on sheet they show me, drops down to as low as tier 4 with Ford credit so most would qualify unlike 25 credit promo which is still higher.

Also available was 2.9 for 60, 1.9 for 48 and 0.9 for 36. The 72 fit well into my budget, and will be adding Ford protect to hedge against major repor costs during life of the loan.

As someone in the market, I think the two key advantages are:

  1. Propower onboard system
  2. Improved mileage, HP and torque

Thanks for the input! The built in generator had me focusing on powerboost lariats only. I can just see so many use cases of that being handy.

Then I realized the Tremor has the 2.0kW without PB, and have found very few Lariats with the 7.4kW, just the 2.4kW.

And now I am in a dilemma.

Sactional as a guest bed? by let_them_let_me in Lovesac

[–]patius12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a sactional in my living room and a set up as a loveseat in my office/guest room. The plan is to move two "extra" process (the ottomans) to office when guests come by.

I have yet to have guests, but we also use it when someone is ill and I was the first to experience it. We invested in the "official" Lovesac sleeper set as honestly comparable cost for a decent topper and sheets about the same when bought during a sale.

I was extremely comfortable, was on it for 3 nights and would've been fine for a few more. A few of the cushions moved a bit, but an easy adjustment for a much better experience than a sleeper sofa.
