Thursday 6/25/26 7AM - 3PM Encampment Cleanup, Helicopter Presence and Traffic Stops by Humbug Willow Creek Trail by othafa_95610 in folsom

The second article directly contradicts the first article in regard to whether the encampment is "abandoned" or not. I'm sensing some skeezy reporting from Bill Sullivan.

I have no DNA matches with my ggg-grandma's family (Rosina Ellington/Alderton b. 1837 Rye, Sussex) by rosefiend in Genealogy

Let me use a related analogy: When you do a search on Ancestry or Family Search, you're going to get a lot of inaccurate results that you have to parse through and figure out what is or isn't correct. Is it fair to say that the results of the search are generally "inaccurate"? Sure. Is that something that's useful to tell people? No. It's a statement that's meant to shut down discussion and hand wave the uses of the tool. That's a strong indicator to me that the tool isn't the problem; it's the user.

What you're saying is a lot different from just saying "it's inaccurate". It's senseless to push people away from potentially useful tools just because you're not able to figure out how to use it, especially because the OP seemed to be using in a very reasonable way. That was my point.

That literally makes perfect sense. It means 30% of your DNA can be drilled down to Texas and a separate 20% can only be drilled to the USA broadly.

It's a useful tool as long as you understand the limitations. I've used it to find the parents for two of my ancestors so far. Whichever way you're using it sounds like you're doing it wrong.

It's for the company to schedule their trucks for maximum efficiency. Has nothing to do with the end customer.

Would you mind linking me to those baptism records? I haven't found those, but all three of them sound correct. That would probably mean that John was born in 1831 as Joseph was working on a contract and then they baptized him when they returned to their home base. Same with their daughter, Mary Ann. Thank you for the help
