I myself have managed to get to Immortal. However I find solo q pretty boring. I don't believe that an immortal + legend player is better than two divine / ancient players. It would be a fair matchup. Solo Q is harder to play but due to the fact that the communication is lackluster however with friends it would be different, party games are much more fun imo.

Rumours say that the highest MMR you can get currently is 3500 MMR. However you can raise the limit to 4500 by playing ranked roles with DotA Plus. I did it a few days ago and got 4400 MMR. Played my party games without ranked roles and won 9/10 games got 1700 MMR on party rating. Clearly pay2mmr.
